I suffer from fibromyalgia and arthritis so I decided to purchase this mattress at a cost of $2300 Canadian for a queen size. I should have known that after lying on it in the showroom, I would not like it, as I did not feel the delirious sense of “floating” so vividly described in commercials. However I believed it was just a case of “getting used to it”. I also purchased the pillow $125.
I find it incredibly hard/firm to lie on. Once on it, it is very difficult to change position, sit up or get out of bed, as there is no “spring” to it. Another review likened it to “lying in quicksand”…and I agree. I have never been able to get comfortable on the pillow and today I threw it out. I am a back sleeper (as much as possible), and I find if I have changed positions in the night, it is to my side, and that side’s hip hurts a great deal in the morning. It also says not to use a heating pad or other heating product with this mattress, but I have to use a heating pad on my neck and back regularly, in fact more now than before purchasing this product. Further, this product does hold body heat and I find I am often far too hot in this bed, particularly in summer, even with the AC on.
I find it very difficult to remove the cover for washing and even more difficult to get it back on. It is very heavy, making bedmaking even more difficult, and practically impossible to reposition, turn the mattress etc. The manufacturer claims you shouldn’t have to do this, but after two years, I find that the side I sleep on has deteriorated, and now I want to turn it, but it will take three people to do it.
I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone with back or neck pain, arthritis or fibromyalgia. I am saving for a new mattress set and that will take me at least another year. Until then I guess I am stuck with the discomfort or I sleep on the couch.
