It’s been a little over a week since we’ve received a King Size Tempur-Pedic mattress. We had a Somma waterbed for about 18 years and it was about time for a new mattress. We did love the waterbed but it was getting to be too much of a hassle. So after some research we decided on a Tempur-Pedic. So far it’s been wonderful. No more back stiffness in the morning. I spring out of bed like I was 25 yrs old again. (I’m 52) Even my posture seems to be better. And I can sleep on my side without hip pain!! It was a little strange for a couple of days to sleep on something that didn’t ‘move’ like the waterbed did. “Soft rock” takes on a whole new meaning……when you first lay down you feel like you’ve just laid down on a rock and then in a few seconds you feel the mattress start to mold to your body. I didn’t see the reviews before we bought and the negative ones about the warranty have me a little concerned. We bought the mattress from a local dealer. Shop around because prices can vary. We did find it somewhere else for $120 less ~ we called the mattress store where we made the purchase and they did match the price and refund $120. We bought the mattress alone because we already had the foundation from the waterbed. The salesman said it would be ok to do this but if we had a regular box spring it wouldn’t work. This saved us about $400. The cost for the king size mattress was $1489. Also the mattress dealer extended the trial period to 120 days from Tempur-Pedic’s 90 day trial. If we don’t like it we can send it back.
