I have had this mattress for about 1.5 years now (review updated in Jan. 2003), and it’s just a dream to sleep on. Wow. Makes me want to lie in bed all day.
Sooooo…comfortable, good support, can’t say much about the durability yet, but I don’t think I’ve ever had such a sturdy yet comfortable mattress. Good edge support, no squeaks (I should hope not at this point!). I bought it because I had been waking to sharp back pains every morning on my old futon (and reasonably so). The back pains are now completely gone — this mattress worked like a pill!
It’s a pretty tall/thick mattress, and requires sheets with generous pockets due to the thickness. Not very easy to move around by yourself in a small room.
I got it from Mattress Warehouse — they call it the “Confidant” model (mattress stores all seem to have different gimmicky names for the same mattress, so it’s hard to know if you are getting an identical one or not). It’s an Ultra Plush - nice and thick and soft. About $100 cheaper than a pillowtop, but very plush and cushy nonetheless. Has a limited 10-year warranty (i.e., if the springs come through, if the center sags more than about an inch or so, etc., they will give you a replacement mattress). It’s good enough that I will be a repeat buyer of this mattress.
