I was waking up with a sore back from my old mattress (2 year old $2K Sterns and Foster)- the pillow top seemed to have a sinking area. I researched lots of details about all the mattresses out there, including this site, and thought this would be a good fit, but it wasn’t. I returned the bed using the 90 day return policy (more on that below).
When I ordered the mattress online everything moved pretty smoothly and it was delivered as expected.
The mattress is really soft in the sense that your body sinks down into the mattress, but hard in the sense that once you are sunk it’s like being in a carved out area of sand. For the first week we were waking up a little sore (me more than my girlfriend), but after 6 weeks we both were pretty sure things weren’t going to get any better.
The other thing to know is that the bed doesn’t breath like others (despite the Coolmax that comes w/the Opulance) and so if you don’t like sleeping hot this isn’t the right bed for you.
After we decided to ship it back I called to find out the process- just ship it back and there was no RMA. So I sent an email confirming this and letting them know I was sending it back. One thing I never thought about- How do you box up a queen size mattress- it’s nearly impossible to find a box on the internet, furniture stores, or even mattress store. Shipping is about $200 from NY to PA.
Despite shipping it back within the 90 days they still have yet to credit me (now 3 weeks since they received it), they can’t seem to find my mattress (which is why I asked for an RMA #) and they didn’t return one of my 6 phone calls or several emails. I have confidence they will actually credit me, but it shouldn’t be this difficult!
So be prepared that if you don’t like it, it’s a real pain to return it and get your money back.
