Think twice Tempur Pedic Swedish Mattress After a back injury my insurance company gave me the money to purchase a new bed. After researching ...
I’ve had a Tempurpedic twin-size mattress for several months now. Initially, I had the full-size one, but I discovered that sleeping on this particular mattress, I didn’t really roll around a whole lot, so I downsized to a twin. This was ok with Tempurpedic, so long as I signed a waiver saying I would give up the remaining of 3-month trial period. I agreed to this which was a mistake. I should have returned the mattress and purchased a new one. I think I didn’t want to do that, b/c I would have had to pay shipping charges for the twin mattress (as opposed to the single charge I paid for full-size and then exchanging it for free).
When I started owning one, for the first week, it felt luxurious. I did bit of a tingling sensation at the base of my spine when I woke up in the morning, but I dismissed that b/c Tempurpedic had told me I would feel my spine stretching or something like that from the proper support that their beds gave. I also felt very rested after a night’s sleep for the first week too.
When I exchanged the full-size for a twin, it seemed like the twin was softer. I’m not absolutely sure about this, but it seemed that way. I started getting back pains, but I couldn’t return the mattress anymore. Also, on some nights, the bed was rather warm.
I decided I needed much firmer support, and I remembered that there were actually two types of foam that makes this mattress. The bottom support foam is much firmer and I discovered by flipping it upside down, I got a rather firm mattress that gave me good support. It’s actually fairly on the mark for comfort for me.
Ultimately, I’m pretty sure I could have achieved the same end result (since I’m not really using the soft memory foam for anything) with a much less expensive mattress. The mattress is fine as it is now, but it’s because I’ve worked around the inherent problems I’ve had with the mattress. The end result is that this mattress is very expensive for and work-around end result that I could have gotten much more cheaply with another mattress.
