If you’ve decided that coil spring beds are the way to go, Latex is always an option, then the lady englander is the best in the business. Given that mattress manufacturing is not rocket science one would ask what separates one manufacturer from the others. Well marketing is a major component, (Hello Serta & Sealy) and certainly having a major distribution chain selling your product increases its perceived worth (Mattress Giant, Mattress Discounters etc). But if you look inside the mattress you will soon recognize that it is simply about support. Given that the primary component to a coil spring mattress is the coil spring itself it would seem logical that the difference in mattress manufacturers would be manifested here. The designs range from pocketed coils (Beautyrest) to wound coils tied together in tandem (most everyone else). Since the coils all originate from the same source (Leggett & Platt) it comes down to coil design. Englander uses the heaviest gauge coil in the industry. Also by wrapping that heavy gauge metal 6 times into a coil as opposed to 3-5 times of other manufacturers Englander has created a firmer coil which will allow give but not become spongy after years of use. To soften the overall firmness Englander then falls into step with all the other bedding companies. They cover this great design with a heavy durable cover separated by foam cotton etc. The end result is a mattress which on the surface gives the same soft supportive feel you would get from the majors but inside offers a design which promises to far outlast the others. Marketed predominately through smaller mattress shops of smaller family furniture stores Englander has over the years developed one of the strongest followings in the mattress business. A great design which will prove its worth for many years to come. No marketing wizardry, or technology bs.
