I became interested in the memory foam mattresses after first seeing the Tempur Pedic mattress at a Brookstone store. I loved the comfort of the Tempur Pedic, but I just couldn’t bring myself to pay $1500 for a queen size mattress alone. I did a lot of research and found several comparable mattresses to the Tempur Pedic. I settled on the Abed mattress because it seemed to the the closest thing to the Tempur Pedic for the best value and the Abed people seemed to be reputable.
I bought the Denmark visco-elastic memory foam mattress from www.abed.com. I replaced a Sterns and Foster inner spring mattress that was getting worn. I kept the Sterns and Foster foundation, but covered it with plywood to support the new Abed mattress. The salesman at Abed said the foam mattresses only require a solid surface as a platform.
The mattress is so much more comfortable than any inner spring mattresses I have ever slept on. Right when you climb in the bed it’s like settling on a supportive cloud. When you move around you do not disturb your partner as motion is barely transferred through the mattress.
I haven’t had the abed mattress long enough to know how it will hold up and that is my only concern.
If you are looking for the most comfortable mattress for the price, the Abed Denmark cannot be beat.
