First, I want to thank everyone who took the time to write reviews on this product. They were very helpful. And let me establish up front that I bought Isoform’s top of the line ‘Luna’ mattress.
I suffer from constant back pain. So I was impressed with and can agree with posts I have read that stated a noticeable difference in the morning between this mattress and traditional mattresses. I was also ‘patriotic’ enough to give an American made product the edge with all else quality wise being equal.
However, this product capitalizes on it’s inaccessibility for a full comparison. This is not favorably comparable to a Temporpedic mattress in terms of quality. I took time to visit a mattress store where the salesperson was very knowledgeable about this technology. Apparently, the Temporpedic folks had provided training on the differences between their product and “knock offs”, like Isoform. Based on my experience and what I learned from people who bought Temporpedic products, there are significant differences.
The salesperson demonstrated the firmness of Temporpedic, that cannot be replicated with Isoform. Therefore, the Isoform products will never pass the ‘bolling ball vs. the wine in a glass’ test. Having gone to the mattress store, I can verify that there is only slight movement felt when one person gets out of the bed with the authentic Temporpedic products. In this regard, the Isoform product behaves exactly like a traditional mattress.
Additionally, sitting on the side of this mattress (with your feet on the floor) gives you the impression that you are going to fall off it.
But these aren’t my biggest complaints. Ten days after I ordered the product it still wasn’t shipped. When I contacted the store, I was told there was a problem with the delivery of the component parts. After noting that that information should have been shared, the customer service experience went straight downhill.
Bergad took my payment right away, but I was never notified that my order was late. They had my email address and home phone, but I received no notice. I had to call them to find out about the shipping issues.
I felt disrespected when I asked about why delivery service was only curb side instead of in my house. Telling me the long history of law suits and company policy (of only curb side delivery) at the time of delivery is a bit too late. Listen Bergad, I purchased the mattress because I have a bad back. Therefore, I am in no position to carry a mattress into my house. Having knowledge of the curb side only policy is only valuable ahead of time.
I felt disrespected further after hearing the customer service rep say “Definitely not!” when I asked if Bergad would compensate me for the additional expense to deliver the mattress in my home when I was not made aware of their delivery process, and was delivery was later than promised. The tone of voice was inappropriate.
That not withstanding, I am of the opinion that this company’s product is inferior to Temporpedic’s products. While the product is good enough for my needs, the bottom line is you get what you pay for.
