This mattress was a gift to MYSELF and I must say, it is perhaps the nicest thing I have done for me in a long time.
I booted my Sterns and Foster out the front door when I bought the Simmons - my first- and found it to be an absolutely dream state.
I actually look forward to going to bed at night, since it feels so good to sink into, but with lots of body support, and feeling like a little kid on this wonderful lofty mattress.
One of my surprises is that this mattress is much higher than the Sterns and Foster one, such that I actually have to hip up onto it. However, once up on it, it is truly marvelous. I do not mean to overzealously react here, but this truly is the best present I have bought myself in 20 years.
Please note I am not a good sleeper to begin with. How do you think I have written so many epinions????
Also, I feel that since I have had this mattress, I sleep so much better. I sleep more often through the night. Even though I am a routine mattress flipper and turner, I found that on the Sterns and Foster, I woke up each day feeling like I was not rested and worse, feeling achey.
Since I have put down the money for this purchase, I wake up differently.
Sometimes, mattresses are considered to be like other pieces of furniture, which are good for a long time. However, they have a regular obsolescence. So, in my case, being in my early 50’s, I finally reasoned that it must be this ten year old mattress not allowing me to sleep well. Sure enough, with this new Simmons, I have started to really rest.
Mine has a pillow top, and thus, the old sheets which are not extra deep may not fit as they should. However, the pillow top is what gives the lofty feeling. Being up higher I think also makes you feel better - ok, don’t ask I am just putting that forth.
However, this mattress is a hard one to turn and is almost impossible to do alone. I find that I can move it around on the box spring to rotate it from top to bottom, but I cannot turn it alone.
If you are suffering from a lack of a good night’s rest, buy one of these Simmons mattresses. It will make you a happy camper.
As an update to this Epinion, it is five years later, and I still sleep on this mattress just like I did when I first bought it! What a wonderful illustration of “Buy well and buy once!”
