Positive I thought I got a good deal at $1400 CAN
Cons: Maybe TOO firm? Causes me to have sore back every morning!
This review is for the “Seally Posturepedic Euro Pillowtop Ultra Firm” it also says “Special Reserve collection” on it.
I bought this bed 2 years ago on a closing sale (I got it for $1400 CND at 50% off). Well the last 2 weeks has been ugly, I have a hard time getting out of bed, I get up with a sore back every morning now, it goes away within 1 to 2 hours of waking up but I’m not looking forward to going back to sleep because of this.
I only weight 145 lbs, I’m young and very active and healthy so the sore back really is caused by my bed! I am very dissapointed in this product, no wonder I’m always tired during the day, I don’t get good sleep, instead of repairing myself during the night this bed is causing more harm to myself.
Its one of those mattress that you don’t need (you can’t because of the pillowtop) to flip over but requires to turn around from time to time.

Positive I can not think of one positive thing about sealy or this mattress.
Cons: Poor quality. Non existent customer service.
My wife finally talked me into buying a new mattress. What a mistake this was, the new Sealy queen size that we purchased in November 2004 is junk. It is too tall, covers up the headboard of the bed. And it is about as comfortable as sleeping on the floor, with the added pleasure of climbing to get there. My second mistake was buying at a less than reputable business that was failing. No returns, I was stuck with this gem. I tried calling sealy to see if they would help me out, they laughed. I then tried selling it myself for 1/2 of what I paid, when it was less than 1 week old. Nobody wanted it. Too bad for me. I paid $800 for a mattress that is not worth the $5 of gasoline it will take to burn it. I would not recommend this mattress to anyone. I would not purchase another sealy product ever.
What about the sheets?
Positive Comfortable in the beginning.
Cons: Have to buy Wamsutta or Sealy deep pocket sheets costing over 100 dollars a set
Pillow top mattresses are OK but not worth the price. You can’t turn them over and they do get an indentation where you lay on them so it’s hard to move around on the bed because you are thrown into your groove all the time and after a while it’s not cushy there.
My main objection on pillow tops is the sheets you have to buy for them. Our mattress is 18 inches but we have to buy sheets for over size 20 inch mattresses to fit because of the pillow top. 20 inch sheets are pricey and even tho they say 20 inches (or more) the fitted sheet is really stretched and sometimes will pop off a corner.
The cheapest sets I have found are the Sealy sheets on sale at JC Penney for about 60 dollars but they are very rough feeling at 330 thread count. The Wamsutter sheets have about the same thread count but are very soft and smooth in comparison and they cost 100 dollars or more on sale. The sheets that fit a size 20 inch or more mattress are also very hard to find because most stores do not carry them.

I stumbled onto a better deal I’ve been trying to shop around and find a “best price” on this one or the Simmons/ same features. No way. The retailers are stacking the deck, so you can’t compare straight features. I found Tampa-Discount-Mattress -local to me, sorry everyone NOT in Tampa Florida area-
These guys are great… they sell the “same thing” from manufacturers than make the “generic equivilent” to the sealy, simmons tempurpedic “name brand” guys. All those ads you see… guess who is paying for them. I took my time, checked it out. It’s great… and just about exactly 1/2 the big-store price. If you are shopping look around your town for the small, mom &pop stores. The guys at Tampa-Discount-Mattress said what they do isn’t unusual AT ALL, customer just have to put forth effort to find them. Look around your town… I saved about $400 bucks.
