I bought this mattress set a little less than a month ago and am beginning to regret every penny of it. I went in to the store looking for a Sealy but came out with the Simmons Exceptionale Super Pillowtop. The salesman convinced me the individually wrapped coils and super pillowtop was better for my bad back.
The price was about $500 more than I wanted to spend but I liked the concept of the individually wrapped coils supposedly being better on my back. I also liked that you feel little to no movement when another person is on the bed. The store model I laid on was a hair firmer than I would have liked to have had but I figured it would soften up after a week or two.
Once the bed was in my home and I could lay on it for a couple nights, it actually felt pretty soft and comfortable. Unfortunately it is now almost a month after it being delivered and I’m already noticing it start to sag on the side I lay on most. Besides a 10lb cat, I’m the only one who sleeps on this bed and I barely weigh 105 so I can’t imagine my weight having anything to do with it.
I am also noticing that the bed is becoming increasingly more uncomfortable on my back and joints. I specifically purchased a new mattress because my previous Spring Air wore out after 5 years and was really doing a number on my back. After a week of waking up with no stiffness or back pain, I thought that maybe I had made a wise choice spending more money on the Simmons Exceptionale. Apparently, I got excited too soon. The pain and stiffness has returned. Typically people experience back pain and stiffness the first week of owning the mattress and then as your body gets used to the bed, the pain goes away. Not the other way around.
I’m seriously contemplating contacting the dept. store and asking if I can return it. I’m not even sure if they’ll take it back and if they do then most likely I will lose 15% for “re-stocking”.
