I purchased the Serta Perfect Sleeper Pillowtop in July 2003 from Sears in San Bruno. I was told that this is the top Serta Mattress. After trying for several months, I started noticing that the mattress sags on the right-hand side (the side that I sleep). I went back to Sears & told the Sales Representative, Joyce, what happened. She claimed that the mattress was trying to mold to my body and it supposed to work that way. So, I didn’t insist to return the mattress. However, the sagging became so bad that whenever I lie on it, my back starts to ache. So, I switched to sleep on the left-hand side instead & put my baby in the middle (trying to avoid the sagging part). I’m not happy that I have to do that, so I went back to the store again & asked for a refund since the receipt said “Satisfaction Guaranteed or your money back”. Pam, the sales rep, claimed that “Satisfaction Guaranteed or your money back” doesn’t apply to the mattress set. So, I wrote to the National Customer Care & complained & was told that indeed it does apply. Then, the store Manager called me & denied my refund. The reason this time is “it’s over a year”. They do allow me to do an exchange based on the 10-year warranty. I’m reluntant to do so because according to Pam, sagging is not considered defective. If it occurs again with my exchanged mattress, I won’t be able to exchange for another one. But, what choice do I have now. Sears should have spelled out “ONE-YEAR SATISFACTION GUARANTEED OR YOUR MONEY BACK” on the receipt. I would have gone back to the store one month earlier if I have known that. I’m just not happy about this purchase.
