Sleep on the floor update
Positive The new mattress looks good
Cons: The new mattress is as bad as the old one
We had written a review about our Restonic mattress, and we called the store where we had purchased it to report the problem. They sent a representative to look at it and pronounced it a “king ridge” and not covered by the warranty. When I informed the store, I was told that he couldn’t do anything about it, and was about to dismiss me completely when I mentioned the reviews on this website. He got online to look at the reviews, and after looking at repeated complaints about sagging in the middle, he set up an appointment to replace our mattress with another model with a “reinforced middle” which was EVEN BETTER. It is very attractive, does have stitching which seems to indicate that something is going on in the center (chest to knees portion, not center), but is exactly the same as the old mattress. Once again, it felt good for about six weeks, but once again is sagging in the places where we sleep. The ridge in the center is 4″-5″ after only three months. We purchased a Simmons last month, and we now realize that warranties are useless, but we have learned a very expensive lesson.
Very Disappointed
Positive Comfortable Bed for only 1-1/2 to 2 years.
Cons: Deep craters after short life, only lasted 1-1/2 to 2 years, waste of money.
I feel sorry for the users who have rated this bed “Good” or “Excellent” after just purchasing it. I have had my Restonic since July 2001. I thought is was great for the first 1-1/2 to 2 years, but even after following the flip/rotation schedule the bed started to get deep craters where the body lays. My wife is about 120 lbs and I am 175. We are now miserable and can’t sleep. Even when we are able to sleep, we toss and turn and wake up with aching/sore bodies/backs. I hope other people have better luck than we did. I don’t even know if we will bother contacting Restonic for warranty as after reading other reviews it looks like it would just be a pain/hassle.
We went out today a purchased a Sealy Posturepedic, hope we have better luck with this one. If anyone wants a Restonic, I’ll give you a good deal on mine.
Restonic Comfort Care California King
Positive Works well in our waterbed shell.
Cons: Finding the right size sheets (deep pockets needed!)
We really like the feel and comfort of the bed. We are new to the bed so we will let you know in 2 years if we experience the sag or discomfort. Yes, the downside is finding a local place that sells the sheets. Yes, they can be bought online but some of us like to touchy feely before we purchase.
Disappointing at best
Positive no flipping required, inexpensive compared to other major brands
Cons: Doesn’t hold it’s shape, uncomfortable, poor quality
We bought this mattress in 2006, mainly because a neighbor owns a furniture store and only deals with Restonic for mattresses. When we first started sleeping on it, both my husband and I noticed that our backs were really sore throughout the day. We figured that we just weren’t used to the new mattress and decided to give it time. I also wrote to the company to tell them how we weren’t feeling very rested but I never heard back. We ended up getting used to it and have been sleeping well and then I noticed the deep pockets that have formed in the mattress where we sleep. We are not heavy people either, I’m a petite 115 and my husband is a tall 190. It’s the type of mattress, too, that you cannot flip and turn, that was one of the main selling points. I now wish we could, the only option we have is to turn it around (end to end) frequently. We will never buy this brand of mattress again.
Do NOT buy!! SHORT lifespan!! Breaks down in the middle!!
Positive 1st impression great.
Cons: Extremely SHORT lifespan!! Does NOT hole up!! Foam breaks down FAST!!
Great 1st impression. That is the only thing going for this mattress. It only held up for 18 months! Just like ALL the others who wrote review and have owned it for awhile said! Listen to them! It Sinks like a ship in the middle.
My wife and I are each under 190lbs (we are NOT large/obese people and the mattress did NOT hold up!
RIPOFF for the price!!
Excellent Quality Mattress Set at Extraordinary Price
Positive great warranty, excellent comfort system and support
Cons: if you’re short, get a step stool!!
I spent over four months looking online, going to furniture and mattress stores, comparing and contrasting every mattress st I could find. I had settled on a different set, when I decided to go to one last store in town and came upon the Restonic Comfortcare. I slept on a Sealy Posturepedic for over 20 years, and will never go back!! I cannot believe the difference this mattress set has made in my sleeping through the night without tossing, turning, waking up, etc. For the modest price, it can’t be beat. And with a 20 year, non-prorated warranty, what more could I ask??
Faulty Box springs
Positive The mattress is very comfortable.
Cons: The box springs is a nightmare!
I bought a Restonic mattress set six months ago. Since then I have gone through four box springs. Either the wood frame breaks or within a couple months the box springs is creaking and groaning so much it is hard to sleep. If I knew then what I know now I would not have purchased a Restonic mattress and box springs.
Don’t buy RESTONIC!!
Positive no flip
Cons: no back support, large body depressions
We went to Beds America to buy a Tempurpedic mattress. The salesman suggested the Restonic Sensora. We took the advise of the “professional” and purchased this in a king size. In the beginning this mattress was a dream! After approximately 2 years the indentations where we sleep were very deep and we began waking up with backaches. Today I dug up my warranty slip and receipt and took it to the place of purchase. The salesman is supposed to contact the rep. For $1600 we are very sorry.
UPDATE: Aug 2007 After going to the BBB, I wrote a letter to Restonic. The owner of the manufacturer in Miami was to contact me. They sent out Mattress Marshalls (that I paid $69 for). The report showed 1″ depressions and they are refusing repair. The guy didn’t even lie down on the 4 inch PIT that I sleep in every night! I can’t even lie down in the middle of the bed without rolling back down into the PIT!!! We are going shopping for a new mattress today, we lost our battle. BEWARE and don’t buy anything with the name Restonic.
backpain with restonic mattress
Positive DON’T BUY RESTONIC MATTRESS
Cons: DON’T BUY RESTONIC MATTRESS
we purchase our mattress 10 months ago and now is saggy and causing us backpain. I paid $1200 and now I do understand that quality is unacceptable, terrible, una porqueria de cama
Very unhappy about this mattress
Positive Pretty covering on mattress. Quick response from company and retailer about our complaints.
Cons: We paid $1100.00 and we feel like we have really been ripped off.
We purchased our mattress & box springs 2 1/2 years ago. Held up pretty good for the first 6 months; then it started sagging where the body lays. Horrible. Aching and uncomfortable every morning. The furniture store picked it up and sent it to the Restonic factory for re-stuffing or restoring. Brought it back very anxious for it to work for us. Didn’t. Went out over the weekend and bought a Serta Perfect Sleeper. Will never recommend Restonic to anyone. So much for the wonderful warranty. The rep from Restonic says it is a “comfort” issue. I say “baloney!”
Love my Bed
Positive Great support, amazing pillow top foam. Easy to find sheets.
Cons: Mattress liner crawls up in the middle because it’s so thick (17″).
I bought a Restonic ComfortCare Mattress 2 years ago and have never been happier. My previous beds were pretty basic so I can’t compare this high-end type bed with others like it.
But i adore this bed. It has a foam top that remembers your postiion and doesn’t jiggle when someone else gets on or off the bed. I like the foam especially because it doesn’t make the bed too warm but provides the plushness of a pillowtop.
The only issue is our mattress liner (goes on before the sheets) crawls up a little on the sides (you can’t tell unless you look for it) because the mattress is so thick. I thought there might be a problem finding sheets for this mattress because there is a 4inch pillowtop but that isn’t a problem. Just with the protective liner.
Terrible
Positive Looked and performed well in the showroom.
Cons: Quality & Value
We bought a king for $1120 12/26/06 and the mattress showed its true colors by mid January. We decided to buy a new mattress because our was sagging badly in the middle. This was definitely not a problem with Restonic- in fact, by mid January we had the opposite problem! It was sagging where we lay leaving a huge hump in the middle!
The good news for me is the store I bought it from has a 30-day comfort guarantee so we were able exchange for something else without losing any money. I decided to upgrade to a Sealy TrueForm.
I got lucky on this one but STRONGLY recommend not buying a Restonic mattress!!!
Terribly, uncomfortable mattress!!!
Positive None
Cons: Deep sagging in middle. Loss of firmness.
We bought a Restonic mattress set in 2005. The salesperson raved about the supposed reinforced middle and the fact that you don’t have to flip it. Well, almost right away we noticed significant sagging in the middle. We thought it was normal until 2 years later we wake up every morning with back and neck stiffness and pain that lasts all day. The sagging is so bad now that we have almost no lower back support. We have always rotated the mattress as suggested. Even when the bed is made you can clearly see a sunken horizontal section in the center of it. Restonic is sending someone to look at the mattress this weekend. After reading all of the negative reviews I can definitely say that I will never buy another Restonic mattress!
Don’t buy a Restonic Comfort Care Sensora
Positive Appearance (but who sees the mattress?)
Cons: Comfort, sagging, ridge in middle
We bought this mattress based upon all the features it had. However, we are very disappointed in our mattress purchase. We too have experienced deep sagging where we sleep with a ridge in the middle (we have a King)and aching hips/backs. I’ve read the warranty and realize they will not do anything for us. We are are going to have to replace this $1200 mattress earlier than we have ever replaced any other mattress. We will NOT buy a Restonic again.
It was Firm
Positive Great comfort initially, was great.
Cons: Very heavy to flip, middle sags & lost firmness after 2 years.
Bought Restonic Canadian Classic Baffin Model, looks exactly like picture. Was great for about the first year to year and a half, no more back aches, but after that, and now going on three years, has lost its initial firmness. Total different feel on my side than my wifes side, because I am heavier, my side has lost more firmness then her side, but now both of our backs are hurting us again. Also feels like you are going to slightly role into middle now, but if you lie right on the edge, the original firmness is there, but who sleeps right on each edge. Now will have to fight for warrantee service, wish me luck. Considering I paid about $1500 Canadian for a bet that is basically worn out in three years really sucks. . .
Would Not Buy Restonics again
Positive None
Cons: “Reinforced middle” doesn’t perform
We had this king mattress set for about 6 years, and like the majority of reviews, it was great for the first 2 years then that “reinforced middle” that is supposed to hold up better than all the others FAILS miserably! Ours was so bad that we turned the mattress sideways so the hump that was in the middle was now supporting our midsections. That helped for awhile. After our backs hurting every single morning, we finally threw it away and bought a Tempurpedic and now we feel as though we are sleeping on a cloud. My advice to the new owners of this mattress, in a couple years turn it sideways and you’ll get another couple years use of it. If you are researching to purchase a mattress, I would skip the Restonics as it just doesn’t hold up. When you spend $1100 for a mattress set, you at least hope to get close to 10 years from it and this one doesn’t perform near to that standard.
TERRIBLE BEDS
Positive LIKE THE ADJUSTABLE BED
Cons: BED IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AFTER IT BROKE DOWN…NOT GOOD AT ALL.
THIS MATTRESS IS TERRIBLE….IT’S ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE..AFTER 1 OR 2 YRS IT’S BAD AGAIN…CAN ANYONE HELP?
IT’S STILL UNDER WARRANTY
Horrible Bed !! After 4 Months Two Huge Craters!!
Positive None
Cons: Sagging after four months. Wake up in pain every morning. Very uncomfortable.
I wish I had read these reviews before going out and spending $1300 on a Restonic ComfortCare mattress. My husband and I are average size and never had a problem like this with the other beds we have owned. Our last bed was great for over 7 years. I got this bed from a wholesale furniture showroom and sales woman told me what a great bed it was. I tried it out in the showroom and it felt comfortable. Now after four months, it is sagging on each side. Very uncomfortable to say the least. I have a very thick comforter and even with the bed made, you can see a five inch depression on each side. My husband and I wake up in serious pain every night, and in the morning we are so stiff, it takes a while to straighten up. I can’t last a year at this rate. I will never buy a another one ever again, and I hope people read these reviews before buying this poorly made, yet expensive bed.
