The first couple of weeks were wonderful. Then we started to develop the “body impressions.” Sleep Country Canada told us about. At the end of 2 months, past our 60 night comfort guarantee the impressions began to bother both my wife & I’s backs. We called Sleep Country after the first couple of weeks. Their advice was to flip and rotate. We did. The discomfort continued. Sleep Country advised rotating the bed 1/4. Yes. 1/4 turn on a king size. Well a king size mattress is not square! That was stupid. We finally got them to send a guy out to inspect the bed. He uses a level with a hole drilled in it and a small steel ruler set in it to measure the depth of the body impressions. Simmons allows up to 1.5 inches before it is an issue. My side was 1.75, my wife was .5. According to the warranty we had exceeded the max allowable depth. Not according to Sleep Country. They averaged the two depths. That makes 1.5″, by golly just squeaking by. It has been a year. I am sick of flipping 3000 Canadian dollars worth of bed every week. We finally got the inspector out again. My side is now 2.75″ deep. But that is not what they go by now. They flip the mattress and measure the depression on the unused side…of course being .5″ So that would mean in order to keep the depressions within warranty, and Sleep Country free of honouring the 10 year warranty, we would have to flip our bed every single night.

The plain fact is, the materials used in the pillow tops are crap. They buffer you so far from the springs there is no effect. Off the bat they are like sleeping on a cloud. In short order you end up sleeping in a very expensive hammock. The inspector sees this all the time, very common on pillow top variety mattresses. Sure glad I caught that quote on tape Mr. Inspector. I am going to use it in my case against Sleep Country.

Oh. I weigh 180 and my wife 115.

We have bought a SENSUS memory foam mattress and receive it tomorrow. YAY. As far as Sleep Country? You can take your mattress Christine McGee and …. do whatever you like.
