I decided to buy this bed while moving since my wife didn’t like the softside waterbed we had. My thinking was to have it shipped for the day we arrived (and before our stuff did), so we would have a place to sleep. While this may seem simple, I had tried it before with the above mentioned waterbed, and it came 2 weeks after I moved, and even after the rest of my stuff.

Spring Air + Boscov’s = Consumer Fraud
Positive Their lawyers know how to write warranties that say a bunch of nothing.
Cons: Defective product. Slick marketing.

For the last few months my sleep has deterioated. The mattress we had was a no-name mattress that my husband had bought from a discount store when he first moved out on his own. Needless to say, it wasn’t a good mattress at all! You could feel the springs. You would wake up aching everywhere. I complained to my husband about it, but it didn’t seem to bother him. He thought the mattress was fine. He bought a memory foam topper, in hopes that it would help make it more comfortable for me. It seemed to work for a little while, but before long I was waking up with a sore back again.

UPDATE- I now have a RESTONIC “SOPHISTICATE” Queen set instead of the Grand Palais (it was time to upgrade afterall). The Sophisticate looks similar to the other lineup, but has a Latex “Euro-Box-Top”. This set is a true two piece non-flip set. I love it more than the Palais.

The summer of 2002 is a summer I will never forget. We bought our first bed.
During the weekend of August 9th, we decided to go shopping for a bed. Now, as comfortable as I made the Coleman Queen Comfortsmart Air Bed sound, I was so glad to hear we were going to get a real bed. So, we went to Sadler’s, a furniture store in Anchorage, and began looking for a bed.

I’ve learned that buying a mattress is probably worse than buying a car. The salespeople know how to manipulate numbers better than a car salesman, and they lie even more! I bought a Stearns & Foster “Dovenby” king size mattress set for $1709 AFTER the 10% was taken off. I found out that the exact same mattress set is $1699 at mattressemporium.com. It is also that price at some other places, but mattressemporium.com offers 10% of the $1699 for a total of $1529. Another words, if this salesperson would have told me that the MSRP was $1699 and NOT $1899, I wouldn’t have had a bone to pick with him or the salespeople in Houston. I called the salesperson at The Mattress Firm in Round Rock, Texas and he told me that I had a “newer” Dovenby with “better padding” or something to that effect. He said that he will go ahead and give me $170 off even though he isn’t supposed too. What I think is that he knows I caught him in a downright lie and he just couldn’t admit to it. The salesperson also said that the Dovenby is the extra-plush mattress set, and the Deighton and Dorrington are different because one isn’t a pillowtop and the other is just a “plush” pillowtop. I think I can believe that part, but the part that there are better Dovenby’s than others sounds like a crock of smelly stuff. Anyway, I just want everyone to know not to trust any mattress salesman any further than you can throw him OR the mattress!!!

I had seen the TV ads or the Select Comfort sleep system. They offered a 90 day trial at no cost. It seemed too good to be true. We were in the market for a new bed because we were both having trouble with our backs. We had slept on a waterbed for many years. So, we decided to order the Select Comfort.
There were various sizes available, as well as different styles. Since we had a waterbed frame already and didn’t want to part with it, we chose the mattress that fit into our waterbed. It was a custom size so it cost quite a bit more than the other sizes. But we felt it was worth it because it fit into our waterbed frame perfectly.

Based on reviews, I bought a Comfortaire Cerenity mattress from Elixa.com. I, too, found them extremely helpful and friendly and was pleased to find that the price for an eastern king with visco-elastic pad upgrade was only $849. plus shipping, around $100.
The package arrived from New Mexico in 2 large boxes, setup took the 30 min they said it would. It was easy to do; the instructions were well-written.
I chose my side and adjusted the air chamber and, I certainly agree, it felt great.

After 15 years sleeping on a Serta top of the line Plush style mattress, my husband and I felt we needed something softer to help with the shoulder injury he had and overall joint pains we were both starting to experience. We did not limit ourselves to Serta and found the number of pillowtops being made claiming to give you that special nights sleep was staggering. After rolling around on several beds in way too many mattress stores we could not tell what initially felt good. (Kind of like wine tasting-after awhile they all tasted the same!) So, we would leave, do some leg stretches and go to another store to try again. My husband liked the firmer pillowtops, I absolutely did not, which was a huge problem. We found Beautyrest’s top of the line pillowtops to be inviting and a good possibility but the price tag was not which made the choice all the more stressful. We did not want to spend thousands of dollars on a mattress only to find after our 30 day trial had expired we did not like it. In the end we found a compromise and chose Serta Perfect Night Rivercrest which is has a big pillowtop. All our time and exercise at the multitude of mattress stores paid-off. This is absolutely the most drop-dead comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. It has the cushy big pillowtop (which some people error in thinking is too soft) with Serta’s wonderul mattress which provides excellent support. My husband and I have been sleeping on this mattress for 6 months now and love it! We ended up purchasing our mattress online and saved almost $1000 through “the-mattress-outlet.com”. Buying a mattress online was a new experience for us but we could not have asked for a better deal or nicer people to work with and no shipping or sales tax!

I have been looking at memory foam mattresses until I was almost ready to give up. Then I discovered the Isoform from Bergad through epinions. I ordered the queen 10″ mattress only as I had a decent foundation to put it on.
