We found the first, although not the most important, secret to great sex. For a while we thought our only alternatives were cheap hotels or the back seat of the car. (Wait a minute. We didn’t have a back seat. At the time our car was a Mazda Miata!)
After discussing our options with much amusement and much laughter, we chose another alternative. We bought a new mattress.
Now, I’m not one to complain, but I’m very fussy when it comes to lying down. A few years ago, I’d been in a bad car accident and because of that, find lying on my back somewhat of a royal pain! The left side of my lumbar area feels like I’d been kicked by a mule and then my left leg goes numb! Well, obviously, I needed a mattress that offered comfort as well as support. The day we went mattress hunting, I wore VERY comfortable clothes.
As we walked into the store, the salesmen jumped all over us anticipating a sale. I explained briefly, "We’re here for a mattress set. I’d like to browse. When I find one I like, I’ll find you." They smiled and walked away (all four of them!).
I took off my sneakers and walked in my socks from setup to setup, lying on each one I approached. I didn’t just sit and flop back with my feet hanging off the edge. I lay on the bed, pillow beneath my head, first on my back, then from side to side and then on my stomach. I spent as much time as needed on each mattress. As soon as I felt the slightest twinge of pain, I was up and on the the next one.
Then I found it!
I sat on the edge. It was semi-firm. Sort of! The mattress was firm with an extra small cushion on top. It felt comfortable when I sat down.
I lay back. Good, still no pain. I grabbed the pillow and "rested" - comfortably. I tossed and turned! Turned and tossed! Sat up, lay down. I spent almost TEN minutes on this bed. I was in heaven. If I could have taken it home right then and there, I would have. However, it had to be ordered.
Thinking of what I was looking forward to, I didn’t mind.
You see, Sealy has patented their PostureTech Coil which ensures, no matter how you lie on it, you’ll get the perfect balance of support. I don’t pretend to understand it. It’s like having a bunch of little microchips inside each spring telling it what part of your body is resting on it so the spring, in turn, can give the proper support for that part of your body.
Another great things Sealy does is add layer upon layer of different blends of padding to ensure the right kind of comfort needed for a good nights sleep. And speaking of sleep . . . .
Sealy thought of everything. They have even expanded the sleeping area by putting Edge-Guards around the perimeter of the mattress. The Edge-Guard gives you more stability getting in and out of bed, lets you "make that long reach to the night stand" without falling out of bed because of a sagging end, and helps keep the mattress firm in the right spots.
Sealy thought of everything when they invented the Posturepedic. (I have a hunch whomever this person was, must have had a bad back)
