I made a big mistake with this bed. Though it is comfortable, 2600 dollars is a major rip-off. The bed is fair-priced at about 800 or 1000 dollars.
First of all, I bought the Ultimate Series, with the foundation and shipping. The bill was 2600 dollars all said and done.
SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY if you get a Nautilus and get the Premier instead of the Ultimate. You don’t notice the Visco foam because it is hidden under a 3 inch deep (or more) pillow top. Waste of money. The other componant of the “Ultimate” series was an additional pillow top. I really believed it would make a difference, but in hind-sight, I know it will not. You only need the one it came with. Then the foundation? A total joke. Save yourself big money and go to the local discount furniture store and buy 2 extra long twin bases for 100 bucks.
If you do the above you could have basically the same system as the “Ultimate” for 1500, opposed to the 2600 I blew.
It is a glorified air bed. It is an air bed with foam. That is it. The “inter-locking” air chamber…worthless, if anything it provides less support because instead of a solid base, there are little curves where the “inter-locking” chambers meet. I can’t really explain this, but just put to round things next to each other. You see the space in the top between the two…there you go.
A major mistake, but comfortable. If I get 20 years out of this mattress, 1200 dollars was not too much to spend. 2600 is the rip-off of the century.
