We bought this mattress at the Burdines Store in South Dade Florida. Of course we had heard of the reputation of Stearns and Foster and felt like this would be money well spent. The warranty was for ten years. It was a pillow top and was really beautiful and felt very soft but the salesman assured me it was very supportive. He explained to us in great detail how firmness didn’t necessarily mean support. So we bought a king size with box springs to a tune of 1700 not including tax and delivery. The bed took extra time to be delivered too which was disapointing. After about 4 months of sleeping on the bed it started to sag. My husband said it was just probably normal body impressions and not to worry( he can sleep on a bed of nails very comfortably). After about 10 months I was sleeping in a hole. My whole body was in a “C curve”
while trying to sleep. I was waking up in severe pain and it was taking me 30 minutes or so in the morning to be able to walk straight. So I called the store where I got the bed and in about three weeks some inspectors showed up and aggreed that the bed had deep impressions on each side. They said the store would contact me within two weeks. Well, no word from the store so I started calling. After given the run around from several people I called furniture customer service. They said that I could exchange the bed for another one exactly like it. I remarked that I didn’t trust getting the same bed so could I please just get a different bed, like a Sealy (which is the same company as Stearns and Foster) The customer service woman said , no I would have to get exactly the same mattress. So here I am with back pain and still no bed. The store has been giving me the finger so to speak. I have tried getting in touch with the manager of the South Dade store and he will not return my phone calls. I guess what I will have to do is just get the bed exchanged, try and sell it on my own and go somewhere else and buy a new bed. What a nightmare!
Would I recommend this bed or this store? NEVER!
