Makes good on its promise: an excellent night’s sleep Tempur Pedic Swedish Mattress Although Tempur-Pedic's marketing material claims seem outrageous, this is truly the best mattress I'...

After purchasing and returning two king sized mattresses because of discomfort and/or the thing caving in the middle -in under two years- we decided to trade in the second one and pay the difference for the Classic Bed Tempur-Pedic Swedish Mattress. We had done much research, received the information packet and tried out the mattress in several stores.

Pros:

***The bed doesn’t move. The commercials are exactly correct when the girl has the glass of wine on the bed and someone jumps on it and the wine doesn’t spill. Therefore, the mattress doesn’t lose its’ shape for the most part. The directions say you don’t have to flip the mattress or rotate it, but we do. I believe if we didn’t there would be a slight droop in the mattress for people that sleep in the same exact position each night. You won’t however fall to the middle of the bed if you are fortunate enough to reach out for your loved one in the middle of the night.

***You can sleep in any position very comfortably.

***20 year warranty. Granted it would be a pain to try and trade out a mattress if you needed to before the 20 years were up, but the ease in knowing you can makes up for that by all means!

Cons:

***Price…Wow. We traded in a mattress, got full price on our because it didn’t work, and then had to pay almost $1,000. Total cost was around $2,200. Let me tell you, it is worth it. The comfort in knowing the Tempur-Pedic company is behind you makes the price go away with time!

***Heavy! Even though it is not recommended to turn or flip this mattress, as I said before, we do. It is totally impossible to do that by yourself. Don’t leave the store with this one alone. You need someone from your purchase store to deliver and assemble for you.

***There is a peculiar smell when you first get the mattress home, but it goes away within a couple of weeks.

***When you go on vacation or stay with someone else, it is hard to get use to that bed and then when you come home you have to get use to the Tempur-Pedic again.

***I won’t lie. My body was a little sore the first week or two that we owned the mattress. It really does take some getting use to.

In the middle:

***A pro and con is that the foam that the mattress is made of adheres heat to your body. That aspect is great in the winter and bad in the summer. Just adjust you thermostat and you could probably save a little money on the power bill.

***Another pro and con…The material that the mattress is made of is mite and allergy free. This is a HUGE deal for me and my family. It makes me feel safe! The down side is you can’t wash the mattress cover, when your baby spills juice on it.

Side notes…

The colder the mattress, the harder the mattress. I am talking it is as hard as a brick in the winter time.

Make sure you are ready for your bed to be lower to the ground. The thickness of the mattress is not as much as spring mattresses…There’s nothing in there, but the foam.

I have not gotten a Tempur-Pedic pillow as of yet, but I believe that the mattress and the pillows probably go hand in hand. I can’t find a “regular” pillow to cooperate with this mattress.

There is a trial period and a money back guarantee.

You can get all kinds of information (including a DVD) by going www.tempurpedic.com…There are several “mattress systems” to choose from.

Verdict:

I never want to sleep on a spring mattress again, that’s for sure! Tempur-Pedic really conforms to your body, balances it and provides you pressure relieving comfort.
