When I first got the topper, it was *extremely* comfortable. I had tried other mattress pads before, including feather down baffles, and nothing compared to this.
However, over time, problems cropped up. First, the mattress pad they include that is supposed to hold the topper in place does not breathe well and causes you to sweat in warm weather. It also does not do an adequate job of keeping the topper from sliding away from the head of the bed, meaning that your pillows get wedged into the space between the topper and your headboard.
Worst of all tho, is that the mattress does not seem to be very sturdily constructed. Although Aero claims that the mattress is good to up to 600 pounds, we found after a time that neither side would hold air through the night. We looked all over for holes, checked the hoses for tightness, etc, but came up with nothing. Admittedly, we are heavyweights, but nowhere near 600 pounds combined. We also have a friend who is experiencing the same problems, even though neither her nor her husband are overweight.
The nail in the coffin is when you go out to Aero’s website and note that they are no longer even offering the topper as a product. If they aren’t making it anymore, there’s a good chance that there’s a product flaw that is keeping folks from buying it.
So, in summary, it’s pretty comfortable when it works and the temperature is right, but don’t depend on it lasting for more than three months. $200 for three months is pretty darn expensive.
