I purchased my Stearns & Foster Kensington in 1996. It was the most comfortable mattress I ever owned through the first four years of use. After year four, pillowtop flattened evenly and negated some of it’s original comfort. Still, it was quite alright to sleep on. By year six it was starting to show signs warranting replacement (very little cush, some sagging) Due to cost, I waited a few more years.
In May 2005 I finally broke down and said goodbye to my Stearns & Foster. She was sagging a bit. I bought myself a Spring Air Saffron Back Supporter and was immediately sorry. Within hours on the first night my hips were sinking far into the mattress, putting strain on what was my healthy, normal spine. I have had it three weeks now, the sinking is getting worse, I wake up everyday with mid back pain. With two people in the bed you feel like you are rolling into one another. I am going to try to get the dealer to take it back, but I know it’s going to be a futile battle judging by other reviewers take on Spring Air (Wish I read Epinions first!)
Please take my advice and stay clear of any Spring Air product! I’d take my nine year old Stearns & Foster back any day over this $1300.00 piece of Spring Air junk I purchased. There are no words to describe just how disgusted I am, I feel like such a fool.
