My husband and I really loved the Tempur-Pedic mattresses but we did not care much for the high price that accompanied the Tempur-Pedics. While shopping at Costco, I came along Sleep Innovations” Novaform Mattress and after much deliberation, we decided to take the dive and purchase the Novaform Mattress.
The Product
The Novaform Mattress (Memory Foam 12″ Thick Mattress) is available at Costco. The queen size mattress retails for $499.99. There are different sizes of this mattress available, ranging from twin to Cal-King.

My Experience
I love Sleep Innovations’ Novaform Mattress!
:Set-Up:
A mattress in a box? I was a bit scared that the Novaform mattress would turn out to be a dud since it was packaged in a box but we decided to try it and have not regretted the decision!
The mattress comes in this big blue box that has wheels on it. The box is quite heavy and requires at least two people to lift it. The box comes with wheels as the base, which makes it easy to roll it rather than carry it the entire way. There is also a convenient handle on top of the box.
One of my complaints about the product involves the instructions. They were not very clear and neither were the silly diagrams which looked identical to each other. When the mattress is removed from the box, there are two plastic wraps to cut through in order to expand the mattress. The first wrapping is tough and requires steady hands not to puncture the inside wrapping, which would begin to inflate the mattress. Once the first wrapping is cut through, we cut and removed the plastic around the mattress, all the while the mattress is started to expand as it is no longer vacuum sealed. It was a bit of a pain to start pulling off the plastic as the mattress magically expanded before our eyes. We made sure not to cut the mattress or to pull too much on the mattress as the instructions stated that too much pull would damage the mattress.
There was a bit of a chemical odor when we unwrapped the mattress but it was not overpowering and it faded fairly quickly. We allowed the mattress two and a half days to expand to its full size, though by the first few hours it already appeared as though it was near its full size. I just wanted to make sure it had enough time to expand before using it.
:Convenience:
The initial packaging of the mattress is actually quite convenient for those who do not have a truck or a SUV. The box on wheels with a handle on the top are convenient to manuever. However, once the mattress is out of its vacuumed sealed packaging, it is as big as a standard queen mattress and will then need to be transported as such. The “bed-in-a-box” saved us some money with delivery fee because we transported it home by ourselves.
:Cleaning:
The cover surrounding the mattress allows for easy cleaning as the cover is machine washable.
:Comfort:
I absolutely love sleeping on my Novaform mattress!
The mattress is firm, but does have a bit of give when you lay down. The firmness of the mattress is perfect for me and my husband. We were a bit scared that the mattress would not provide enough support and we would end up sinking into the mattress; this is not the case. The mattress provides a nice support that is firm and supportive yet is extremely comfortable.
If you squish down part of the mattress, it will return to its natural shape by itself. The resilency of the foam mattress is superb.
I love that the mattress absorbs weight and motion so that it does not disturb my husband when he is sleeping. I am notorious for changing sleep positions and it used to wake him up as I tossed and turned — no more! The mattress does a great job absorbing the motion and leaves the other person undisturbed.
I have gotten some of my best rest on my Sleep Innovations Novaform Mattress. I tend to wake up several times (5x or more) a night, but with the Sleep Innovations Novaform Mattress, I have been finding that there are more and more nights that I can sleep through without waking up. I have definitely been more rested since using the Novaform mattress.
:Concerns & Update:
Our concern regarding the mattress was that it would lose its resiliency over time. I am updating this review as we have had the mattress for over a year now. The foam remains highly resilient. We still love this mattress, proclaiming it our best investment ever.
Overall Thoughts
I am extremely pleased with my Sleep Innovations Novaform Mattress as it leaves me well-rested.
