I slept on this while visiting my grandmother recently. I inflated it in about 90 seconds every night and deflated it in about 2 minutes every morning. It rolls up easily and compactly and stores in a simple carrying case. What an upgrade from the sofabed!
It is so high you think you’re on a real mattress and boxspring. And I slept like a baby the whole week I was on it.
There are only two downsides to this bed. The first is that it inflates and holds so firm throughout the night that you can feel the tubes of air, rather than a flat surface that then conforms to your body. This is hardly a problem, though.
The second issue, which is much more of a problem, is that my grandmother had a version of the Aero Raised Aerobed with a built-in pillow (”The Weekender”). This built-in pillow was essentially a long strip of air-filled tubing at the head of the bed, but was designed at an angle - I imagine for reading in bed or something. Thus, if you sleep on the raised pillow-end, even if you use your own pillow, your head is put at an angle. This quickly causes stiff necks and rock-hard shoulders.
I ended up sleeping with my feet at the raised end and my head at the flat end, using a normal pillow. This worked well, and I slept beautifully.
Still, a great value. I can’t believe how far we’ve come in the world of air mattresses!
