I purchased my Tempur-Pedic Comfort Pillow a few months ago and have used it every night since. I used to have the neck support pillow, but due to its odd shape and size, it does not take well to a pillow case and looks quite odd sitting atop a bed. My mother would not have it on my bed, so when she heard about the normal shaped pillow, she insisted I buy it. Although the pillow is more fit for a case than the neck-pillow, it does not have the same thickness as a standard pillow will, so if you are focused purely on aesthetics, this might not be the way to go.

Needless to say, I am very happy I bought the pillow. It is in fact a little softer than the neck pillow, partially due to its slightly thinner width; and in fact I like it much better. If you have not bought a Tempur-Pedic before, you are in for quite a treat! Basically, the foam molds to the shape of your head, but at the same time your head presses the cushion down, the cushion supports your head firmly, which is why it is so good for your neck and spine. Although this model is not as beneficial for your posture and orthopedic concerns as the neck-pillow, it is much better for you than sleeping with a cheap, less supportive, standard feather pillow. At first touch, the pillow may seem too firm for you, but do not be scared away! You should feel it after resting on it for a few minutes, or better yet, when you wake up in the morning! I often carry mine around for a few minutes when I wake up on the weekends because it is absolutely so soft and pleasant to hold.

Do beware of the odor! When you first get the pillow, it will probably smell a little funky. It is hard to describe like what, just very weird and not the most pleasant thing! I usually just leave anything Tempur-Pedic outside on my porch for a day or two, and that usually makes the smell subside for the most part. Over time, it will almost completely go away.
