When we were first married 19 years ago, my parents gave us their old Beautyrest mattress. Even though it was 15 years old already, we were spoiled by how well it slept. The drawback was that it was only full size and we wanted a bigger mattress, so we made the mistake of buying another brand. Then another, and another, and another…with no success. It feels like we’ve tried them all…Sealy, Serta, S&F, etc. Low end, high end, firm, plush, pillowtop, you name it; it didn’t matter…none of them worked for us.
Finally it occurred to me that now we’re in our 40’s we DESERVE the best mattress we can find and decided to go back to Simmons Beautyrest. I’m glad we did, except for now it’s just so hard to get out of bed in the morning! I used to have to get out bed because I was so uncomfortable…now I could stay there forever. The pillowtop with the memory foam is perfect for feeling snuggled and cradled, but has good support underneath. Sure, the bed sits quite high but that looks good with our four-poster bed. If you don’t like your bed high you can request a low-profile boxspring, too.
This bed is worth every single penny. The memory foam makes the pillowtop worth it - plus, my husband who has had two back surgeries loves it, too!
