Our mattress was twenty years old and was getting very lumpy! Every morning we seemed to wake up on the low side of the mattress. It was definitely time to go shopping for a new queen size mattress. We looked at several places for a new mattress and finally agreed upon the Sealy Posturepedic (Montasio) queen size mattress. My husband prefers a very firm mattress, while I like my mattress to be softer. So we left the house, already in disagreement on the firmness of our new mattress!

First we went to Mattress Warehouse and saw a few mattresses that we both liked. We also went to our local National TV and Appliance where we usually get most of our appliances. They had a mattress that we like, but their prices were really higher than we wanted to spend. We also went to another local furniture store called John W. Eye Furniture Store where we had purchased our living room suite. We did not see any mattresses that we could agree on or afford there! So we finally ended up right at the first place we had shopped which was Mattress Warehouse. Not only did they have a good price on their mattresses, but they had the largest selection to choose from. We did find a way to compromise with a firm mattress that had a "pillowtop cushion" that was on both sides of a firm mattress.

We decided to purchase the Sealy Posturepedic Montasio queen size mattress with the EdgeGuard system that helps to give your mattress more edge to edge stability and more sleep surface. We got the complete set which also included the boxspring which was a low profile version. The total cost of this set was $895.75 which also included the tax. The delivery was free and they also set up your new mattress set!

As far as the frames and center supports go, the mattress sets are supported with proper framing and a solid center support. This mattress set was a lot heavier than our old one, so my husband had to put in an additional 2X6 board which supported the center slat! Our mattress also had handles that were designed to position the mattress on the boxspring. You do not use the handles to lift or move the entire weight of the mattress! They can be pulled out of the mattress.

As far as the warranty goes, if you do not remove the protective plastic cover on your mattress set, you can return it within thirty days if you are not satisfied with it. There was no way we were going to sleep with the hard, plastic cover on our mattress! The Mattress Warehouse also has the lowest price guarantee. If you find the same mattress at a lower price, they will pay you double the difference! Within sixty days if you find a comparable advertised product for less, they will refund you DOUBLE the DIFFERENCE! So as far as getting the best bargain, we both feel like the Mattress Warehouse offered the best price on the brand of mattress that we wanted!

I like the white color of the ultra-plush pillow tops. There was one other mattress made by Sealy that we liked, but it had a bright blue print on it and I was afraid it would show, even with a mattress protection cover and sheets over it! The upholstery layering is very thick and more durable. There will be more body impressions on our new mattress since the quality bedding is of higher quality, comfort and weight!

The main reason we choose this brand of mattress was for the comfort, the ultra-plush pillow top, the way it is made and of course, the great price! We have had this mattress set since July, 1999 and we still are happy with our choice! One important step you need to do to increase the life of your mattress, is to rotate it every two weeks for the first three months and then once every two months thereafter! This decrease the body indentations that are a normal occurance in you mattress. One safety tip you need to keep in mind, is to never turn the mattress by yourself! This mattress is a lot heavier than my older one and can cause you personal injury if you turn it alone.

I would recommend this Sealy Posturpedic Montasio queen size mattress to anyone that wants a good night’s sleep at an affordable cost! The biggest surprise that I noticed when we got our mattress set home was that it makes your bed sit up at least 4-6 inches higher than our old one! Sweet dreams!
