My wife and I purchased a Simmons Beauty Rest set for over $1200 in early January 2007. At the beginning of December of the same year, it had developed decent sized ruts on both sides of the bed. Both of our backs started hurting when we woke up. My wife and I are both in good physical shape, are of average weight, and have not had any prior lower back troubles.
The mattress slept like a dream for the first 8 months. Then our backs started to hurt more and more, and the ruts developed deeper and deeper. Even our 10 year old cat has started sleeping on the non-rutted parts of the bed. You know it’s a crappy product when the cat starts to notice it. She sleeps at the far end of the bed, where your feet or head goes, and there is not much wear. I wish I could do the same.
We bought the bed on how high the coil count was, gauge thickness, quality rating of Simmons and such. I can’t believe how hard it is in America, no matter what state you live in, or how much money you can spend, it is to get a decent mattress. Now I read on this website how many people have had the same experience that we have had. I truly believe the only solution is to do thorough research on E Opinions before any major purchase.
