I bought an Englander foam mattress after alot of research, both on the Internet and in stores trying the mattresses out. I did notice some reviews mentioning problems with body impressions on the Englander foam mattresses, but I got overwhelmed with the comfort when trying the new mattresses in the store.
I immensely enjoyed the mattress for the first 4 month, however I had started to notice some slight body impressions right before it was time to rotate the mattress. The mattress was rotated religiously every 3-4 weeks.
These body impressions started getting worse and worse, and eventually (after 8 month) got to the point where you felt like you where sleeping in a valley. If you tried to move you rolled back towards the center.
I contacted the store about the problem and after several calls, I finally got them to come out to look and the mattress. They confirmed the body impressions and was getting in contact with the regional manager for Englander. After many weeks of not hearing anything, I finally tracked the regional manager down. He said that body impressions similar to what I was seeing was normal for this mattress and that I could improve the settling of the mattress by rotating it 90 degrees and sleeping on it sideways to even out the body impressions.
I have since written and talked to Englander on several occasions, but to no evail. They will not even come out to inspect the mattress to confirm the report from the store.
I am now after only 18 month retiring the mattress to the junkyard and once again I am in the market for a new mattress. You can bet it will not be an Englander.
