I am trying to return my mattress because it is uncomfortable. I will say that the bed is well-made and does what is says it will do, i.e., adjust based upon the weight applied to an individual area. However, I find the bed to be very uncomfortable.

When I first called to return the mattress I was routed to Kevin, the owner of Comfort Direct. Kevin offered to help me make the bed work for me. It sounded like a reasonable offer, so I took his advice to disconnect the tubes that control the cylinders in order to make the bed more “dynamic.” Still not comfortable, so I tried again to return the bed. Kevin suggested he send me a pump and new cylinders so that I could make the bed as soft or firm as I wanted. To his credit, he did send me a nice pump and new cylinders at no charge. I was able to play with various air settings. However, the bed is still not comfortable for me.

I called a few days ago and asked to return the mattress. Kevin told me to just call the trucking company and have them pick it up. When I asked for a return authorization he said I did not need one. I asked twice more if I needed a return authorization and he twice more told me I did not. When I re-checked the Web site it clearly states that I do need a return authorization.

I called a few minutes ago and he did not deny that I needed one but told me that his computer was down and I should call tomorrow.

So, those of you who are considering this mattress ought to consider that, if you like it, it is a well-made and cleverly designed mattress. However, if you are like me and cannot sleep on it comfortable, be prepared to go through a very difficult time if you attempt to return it.
