The search for a bed after my last purchase a few years ago has been ongoing. My Spouse and I went searching in December to find a new one. I certainly didn’t want another Serta but of course that is what my husband chose. We looked and lay on many different brands of mattresses with and without the pillow top. Different blends of materials that were on the mattresses and then went home and researched some more on the one that my husband wanted.
Even though I advised him against it he wanted the Serta Perfect Sleeper Collection III Set. That is what we ended up buying, it is a king set and after sleeping on it for the last five months I think he was probably right, {I say that grudgingly, you know you never want the spouse to be right about anything}. You know I am only kidding honey.
Serta Perfect Sleeper Collection III Set Features
The frame is where you always start looking. The Serta frame is made with three beam’s atop each other in a checkerboard pattern. This makes it much more sturdy, a very important aspect for me since I have grandchildren that still want to jump on the bed when you are not looking.
A steel frame runs all around the box springs making the edge where it doesn’t bend. This add to the stability of the bed set. The coil count in our king set is I believe 1040.The coils are interwoven for stability and hopefully to last a while.
The pillow top is quilted and the foam thatִs in it is antibacterial what ever that means, and hypoallergenic. There are three layers of the pillow top although I haven’t ripped it apart to check, that is what I am told.
Pros
Comfortable
The foam eventually rises back to its original position.

Two box springs that offer more stability
Sheets fit it well if I get the jersey sheets or the deep pockets.
Cons
The top is quilted and this means there are little indents on the top of the mattress, think button impressions here. These little indentions collect dust if the dogs sleep on the bed with you or the children jump on the bed to watch Sponge Bob. The dust is hard to get off and has to be vacuumed with a hose, in my case weekly. The dust and sand seem to navigate through the sheets when you lay on the bed.
I noticed after sleeping on the mattress for a couple of months that when you get in bed at night your body fits right back into an indention that has been made in the foam. The middle of the mattress is firmer because you have no one sleeping in the middle. You can’t tell this from looking at the bed but the body indention is there.
There also seems to be a middle hump probably caused from two people sleeping on either side and when you do move from one side to the other you can feel the hump, it’s not bad but it’s there.
There are times that I get hot from sleeping on the foam pillow top , it doesn’t happen all the time and doesn’t seem to bother my husband at all so maybe it is just me.
Conclusion
This mattress set is more comfortable then the previous set we had but then this one was more expensive I believe the price was around 1700.00. The king set is great and makes one feel you are in the lap of luxury even if you’re not. I like the feel of the material that covers the mattress I don’t know what kind it is but it feels like some type of soft cotton. The handles are on each side of the bed and helps with moving it{I hope I never have to move it again, it’s heavy} it is not designed to be turned over. The edges are holding up very well and all in all I am pleased with this purchase. The warranty is standard and I hope that this one lasts longer then the other Serta.
