Get the full mattress - toppers don’t cut it

I bought the same 4″ topper based on the 2 reviews about it and all I can say is that I am not as happy as these people. I am pleased with the material and now wish I had spent the extra money getting the full size mattress - I folded mine in half and laid on it and then I could tell a real difference. It is possible that since my mattress under the topper is super-cheap that it takes away from the effect. The customer service experience I had was great. I ordered it Sunday night on-line and got it on Friday ( I did beg a little). Laying on the topper is a unique experience it’s different from water, air, and anything else. I would rate this this product OK, but only because I feel that it is not thick enough. If you can afford the full mattress, get it. If not, do without.

Positive Very comfortable and soft.
Cons: I don’t see any cons with this product–unless you like a very firm mattress.
I bought one solely on the strength of the other review. I must say I am not disappointed. I bought the 4 inch one. It came in less than a week.
No odor at all.
It is very comfortable; it conforms to your body. It might feel a little “squishy” to some people, since it responds to your body–but we like it very much. I recommend it too!

I have owned a 3″ bergad mattress topper for 2 months. It is amazing. No back pain, and my wife and I sleep sound. I am just so glad I ordered this topper. I can see where someone may hesitate to order over the internet because I was. After ordering the topper and using it for just a couple of days I was hooked. I understand that people are different and sleeping habits differ but I cannot understand why anyone would not love this topper. I ordered one from Macy’s and slept on it for one night and returned it, it was awful. Also the Macy’s topper was about 4″ too short on the width, with Bergad it fits our queen size mattress. It is wonderful to wake up pain free, and we intend to order a mattress in a few months. Ordering was effortless, It came within a week. It did have a slight odor and we let it air out on the patio for a few hours and put it on the mattress and within two days the topper was odor free. If you order this topper I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Build your own Bergad mattress for $368
Positive Really cheap if you buy the foam core from IKEA and build your own mattress.
Cons: Topper will not be attached to base mattress.
I decided to save money by building my own foam mattress. I am doing this by buying the 5 inch 2.5 lb/ft3 mattress core from IKEA (Sultan Fangebo, $200), and paring it with a 3 inch 5.0 lb/ft3 Bergad Isoform topper ($168). The way I see it I have bought the entire $699 Bergad Queen mattress (or the $1400 Tempur-Pedic) for $368. The specifications are virtually identical.
It has worked great for several months now. The foam topper stays put very well and does not slide around. The IKEA mattress comes with a zipped shell, that unfortunately is not quite thick enough to slip the topper inside with the mattress, but this really doesn’t affect it. Both pieces hold up very well and are high quality materials.
I am very happy with this setup and highly recommend it. It’s like sleeping in a luxury hotel every night, I can’t imagine a better bed.

I bought the Bergad 4-inch Queen-sized mattress topper after having tried one at a friends house for a few weeks. I had back surgery 6-months prior and was having trouble getting comfortable on my rock-hard 10-year old mattress.
This is the best sleep I have had in years…no pressure points, I don’t wake up aching on one side. I actually sleep all the way through the night without waking up.
