After trawling around Epinions and other websites for information on this company, I came to the conclusion that the price points outweighed any negative reviews I had seen on Bergad.
My wife and I called Bergad and requested to talk with John Wood (per the suggestion of someone here on Epinions). Mr. Wood was quite knowledgable about memory foam in general and its use in the medical field. I was clear from our conversation that he was not as interested in individual sales as opposed to institutional contracts for their product. That’s fine. After getting the lowdown on the product, I placed the order fully knowing that I wanted to purchase even before the Wood sales pitch.
We ordered a 10″ king bed with the twin pair box springs and two king sized memory foam pillows. This came to a little under $1100. Almost 1/3 of the total quoted by Tempur-Pedic. Can beat that price…
Yesterday, the bed arrived via Yellow Freight, which is the chink in the Bergad experience. Suffice to say, we had to stay on top of Yellow Freight to make sure things were done correctly and not on Bergad. My suggestion to Bergad would be to find a more reliable shipper, if available.
Last night, I experienced the best sleep in years. As my wife stated this morning, “it’s hard to get out of bed…I want to lay here forever.” We’ve only been with the bed for one-day, so I can’t comment further, but if the first impression is any indication, we are going to love this bed for years!
