After two years of sleeping on a rock-hard mattress… my wife and I had had enough. We set out to find a bed that would make us both happy and wandered into the Select Comfort (Sleep Number) store at our local mall where we found just that mattress. She could have a soft, cushy surface and my side could be as firm as I wanted.
We agreed to spend the money ($2100, on sale) on a model 5000 Sleep Number mattress.
I decided to do a little on-line research prior to spending the money and came upon the Comfortaire website (www.comfortaire.com) and started comparing mattresses. I found that Select Comfort was a “spin-off” of Comfortaire…apparently created by an ex business partner. The technologies appeared almost identical.
But what we also found out was that the Comfortaire beds were sold by several on-line vendors, which passed along the cost savings of not having mall stores to the customer.
A little more research and I came upon AirBedDepot (www.airbeddepot.com). I placed a call and after speaking with Mark for several minutes, decided to purchase the Comfortaire King Size Celenia mattress. With shipping, we were able to save nearly $800 and get a mattress that was actually an upgrade to the Select Comfort Model 5000.
Mark answered all my questions and I felt comfortable placing the order with him. The mattress was shipped within three days directly from Comfortaire in South Carolina and received less than a week later. All along the way, AirBedDepot kept me informed of the order, the shipment and the tracking numbers. Mark also followed-up with advice on how to put the bed together and even suggested we put a new alarm clock by our bed, just in case! He was right… we slept great!
All in all… a great transaction with AirBedDepot and a great mattress.
