We thought having a nice inflatable mattress for our unexpected guests and going on camping trips would really be worth the investment over the ones you pick up at your local discount store. Boy were we wrong when we bought the Aero Minute Bed Mattress.
The mattress was different because it came with a charger that you plug in the wall and then take over to the inlet of the mattress which inflated within a couple of minutes. Excellent idea for those camping trips since you don’t need to bring a portable air compressor.
The first one we bought we took on a camping trip and throughout the night it became flatter and flatter until we were sleeping on the rocky ground. The mattress was also noisy when one of us would try to move into a different sleeping position. Suffice it to say, we didn’t get much sleep and woke up feeling achy.
Exchanging the mattress was another ordeal. You have to pay for shipping it to the manufacturer and another one to be shipped to you. Shipping charges amounted to about 1/2 the cost of a new mattress.
When the new mattress arrived, it wasn’t long before we discovered that the new mattress had the same problem. It kept going flat. We couldn’t find where the air was escaping and after contacting the manufacturer regarding the problem, we were not about to pay shipping charges again for another one.
Let’s face it - Aero Mattress lost us as a customer.
Mattress Details
The material is a vinyl that really isn’t very strong which surprised me. It was barely a step up from the inflatable mattresses that are sold at Walmart.
It came with a patch kit which we never used because we could never find a hole.
The charger was really nice and actually worked blowing the mattress up in less than a couple of minutes.
Ours was a full size also known as a double size mattress.
Of course, being vinyl, it is easy to clean but I could also see it would be very easy to puncture it.
It rolled up nicely and stored away in a duffle bag because you can not use it anyway.
Maybe we just received two bad batches of product and other people are happy, but we will just stick to the more inexpensive inflatable mattresses that for some reason haven’t deflated yet, unless we wanted them to.
