I bought the St. Jill model, which was their top-of-the-line firm model. It was called their Ultimate Supreme. They did not make a better spring unit, and their more expensive models just had more padding. I wanted a firm mattress, and this was their best. After a year, the springs had collapsed and my morning back-ache re-appeard. My old Sealy lasted seven years. I only weigh 150 lbs, but I sink right into it when I sit down.

I just bought a high end air mattress for $900, and I figure that it can always be kept firm by just putting more air into it with the included remote controlled pump. It is absolutely wonderful to sleep on a firm mattress again, especially knowing it would always stay that way.

I decided to update based on feedback. I think this mattress, or any other spring mattress for that matter, could be fine for someone single, but will not work for couples. A high-end air mattress is the only way to go.

Also, the foundation squeaks a lot and even more now that I am using a firm air mattress. I think that I will have to replace this with a wood foundation. Way to go Simmons!
