As I am getting older I wanted a mattress that wouldn’t require turning in order to not "break down". The Select Comfort fit my bill perfectly.
I like a firm surface and my husband likes his side mushy. I know this is opposite from all the ads where the wife likes a soft mattress - go figure.
Once we got is set up to our liking we haven’t had to fiddle with the settings. It is nice to know, however, that if things change so can the mattress.
When we first got this mattress the odor from the rubber material used was pretty strong - it has since faded. Also, it took some adjustment to get used to the light weight of the mattress - sheets and such don’t stay tucked tight.
We purchased this mattress perhaps five years ago and I love it totally. It sort of tickles me to know that we now have a mattress that requires electricity - for the air pump. If anything were to happen to it, I would replace it instantly (or as "instantly" as you can via the mail).
My biggest worry is someone dropping something sharp and bursting my bed.
Anyone who can afford it should consider this mattress. The fact that it is durable and would outlast most other mattresses could actually make this thing economical.
