It is inevitable that when two people sleep in my sixteen-year-old daughter’s queen-sized bed, one of them will not get any sleep and it’s not my daughter. She is a bed hog and won’t hesitate to literally push you out of bed, amidst sleep delirium, if you are in her way. She is always having friends sleepover and they complain to her constantly. I don’t know what’s going to happen when she gets married.
Anyway, since they want to sleep in the same room comfortably, I invested in an Imaginair Aero Sport Minute Bed thinking it should be easy to inflate and easy to store. I bought it from Wal-Mart Superstore for $59.99.

The twin-sized bed measures 73″ X 39″ X 7″ and weighs about 8 lbs. It is made of a special 16 gauge Rayon flocked top. The material is puncture-resistant, non-allergenic, and is electronically welded at the seams for superior strength and durability. It comes with its own Rechargeable Ni-Cd pump, charger and handy duffle bag. A patch kit is also included for minor repairs. Bed and pump are covered by a one year limited warranty. This bed fits standard size sheets.
The bed I bought was turquoise in color and has a soft fabric top with a built in pillow. This surface is not only warm and comfortable but it also keeps the sheets in place. It stores in a cute little duffle bag that takes up little room in my daughter’s closet.
My Experience:
When I first appeared with this bed, my daughter groaned, ”Aw, mom, it will take forever to blow that up!” I replied, “Well, I guess that’s what you get when you are a bed hog, your friends have to sleep somewhere (chuckling under my breath).” That week-end she told me she wasn’t having anybody sleep over. I wonder why? I hauled out the bed and the pump and assured her that she would not have to use all her precious energy blowing this bed up. First bungle on my part; the pump had to be charged! Uh, oh!
Well, it was only Saturday morning and it said it takes 12 hours to charge. It was cutting it a bit thin but we should have had time. The pump actually took until the next day to charge fully so take that into account if you are buying this for an emergency trip or something of that nature. However, we managed to get the air into it slowly in between charges. When the pump is fully charged it takes about three to five minutes to fully inflate the bed. Still it is an easy task since it requires no outlets. The pump needs charging about every three to four fill-ups.
Deflating is also a quick chore when you pull the tab as long as you sit on it and help push the air out. I particularly appreciate this bed after a lifetime of hand pumps and lung-air wasted on many an airbed. My daughter, well, she does too, now after the introduction I gave her.
The bed is very comfortable but must be blown up firmly or you will find your behind touching the floor and that can get a little uncomfortable when sleeping. My daughter’s friends barely use it as my daughter prefers to sleep on it when they stay over now.
Conclusion:
I love this little bed. It has made my daughter’s friends lives a lot more comfortable and it has come in handy for other guests who have come to stay also. I wouldn’t call it a minute bed but it is easy and convenient to inflate and deflate and stores away easily in the duffle bag.
I would recommend the Imaginair Aero Sport Minute Bed for indoor and outdoor use. It’s handy and quick to inflate when friends come to stay without having to deal with hand pumps or the like and I know they will get a comfortable night’s sleep.
