I did research on latex beds for months, then walked into a Dormia showroom. I lay down on the ‘Legacy’ which felt a little soft, but very comfy. I bought it with the condition that i can return for refund instead of exchange. 1st few days I loved it, but soon my husband & I found ourselves rolling toward the middle. It started to feel like we were sleeping in quicksand. My back started hurting trying to get out of bed- I felt like I was pulling myself out of a hole.

Dormia customer service sent someone out (who was an independent, & admitted to knowing nothing about Dormia ).He saw the depression left by our bodies(I am petite,& my husband is not a large man) told us in his opinion the latex was not ‘recovering’.Customer service reluctantly took it back, minus $200 for disposal.

I am trying another manufacturer ‘Natural bed store’ which is made Dunlop method instead of talalay. I was told Dunlop makes for a firmer bed. Hope it works. Anyone know anything about the ‘Zippered rainforest’ model?

They give you 3 interchangable layers- soft, med. & firm so you can customize. They said they’ll exchange layers for different firmness for free shipping till you find combination that works.

My wife and I got married at the end of May 2006 and one of the first pieces of “married” furniture we needed was a bed. But not just any bed, a king-sized bed that would take all of the king-sized sheets and comforter we’d gotten at our wedding shower.

I was so happy when I first purchased my Serta Perfect sleeper, for the first time in my life I actually slept an entire night without waking up. But all GOOD THINGS must come to an end - the capitals I will get to later. Within 4 years my mattress gave up on me. There is now absolutely no support remaining in the middle of the mattress. It is impossible to get a good night’s sleep when you don’t know whether you are going to escape the quicksand-like mattress, or if you are going to be found the following morning smothered to death by your “Perfect Sleeper”. Now, when I bought this mattress I was told that there was a 10 year warranty. However, after contacting Serta I was informed if there is even the smallest stain or imperfection (stated in bold letters in their reply), THE WARRANTY IS VOID. On top of this, if there is to be a repair to their less than perfect sleeper, you the consumer are responsible for shipping the mattress to and from the repair center. So in the end you are paying a lot for absolutely nothing, because the warranty is deceptive. DO NOT BUY THIS MATTRESS. You could not do much worse.

I envy the people who have been happy with the same mattress for the last 10 years. My parents are like that. I on the other hand have gone through 4 mattresses in the last 3 years. The Simmons Beautyrest World Class Mattress with memory foam Pillowtop is like sleeping on a cloud. After years of suffering and bad mattress luck I am finally having sweet dreams.

mattress came with a 10 year NON-prorated warranty. After 2nd year the seams started to come apart. Complaint was filed with SLEEPYS. They will give you the run around and make false promises. Had to wait for months and rescheduled visits to get a approval and then they resinded the approval. Company will not cover mattress under warranty. Threads used on the seams and on the pattern are very low grade. They break very easy like it is old thread. Sleepys nor Simmons will honor any warranty. They will only find excuses not to honor it. First of all, I want to call “BS” on some of these reviews that read as if they’re being written by people with relationships to Englander. Call me a jerk for saying so, but I feel like Epinions readers may be getting some marketing spiels in the guise of genuine reviews.

As other reviews have attested to, Englander mattresses test well in the showrooms. At the store they were comfy and seemed to be a great value. But within a matter of WEEKS, we began to notice indentations and after 3 months, we had well-defined impressions of our bodies that were about 1 inch deep. Both my wife and I are of average size and weight. Because we bought a pillow-top mattress, we can’t even flip it over! Simply put, we have to buy a new mattress after just 4 months.

We bought the Comfortaire Cerenity Mattress from Elixa.com. Their website recommends this mattress with the optional 1.5″ visco foam for most people. We got the California King.

The mattress was shipped within 10 days, and Elixa gave us a very competitive price. I like the fact that they recommended this bed as being the most comfortable, based on their personal testing and experience, rather than trying to sell something based on price alone.

My husband and I had had our eyes on a Tempur-Pedic for about a year, but we were waiting to see just how big a dip it would take in our 7-year-old spring mattress before we would get a new bed. The dip became measurable in inches a few weeks ago so we headed over to the local Mattress Unlimited to shop and nap.

We decided to try this mattress out after deciding that we needed a new matress and our old matress wasn’t very comfortable anymore. We went out to the Select Comfort store at our local shopping mall and ended up trying our the mattress for 30 days “Risk Free”. Or that is what we thought when we left the store. It took 2 to 3 weeks for our bed to be delivered to our home. The Select Comfort delivery people were very nice and set up our bed in about 30 minutes or so. We were really looking forward to sleeping on it. Our old matress was really uncomfortable and getting saggy. We fiddled around with adjusting our sleep numbers and eventually agreed that it was definately not anymore comfortable than our old mattress was. We contacted the store that we purchased the bed from to let them know that we were not sleeping very well on our new mattress. They were rude and told us to contact Select Comfort Customer Service, so we did. When I called I told them that both me and my husband were not sleeping very well on the mattress. They offered to extend our 30 day trail to 60 days and said that we needed more time to get used to sleeping on a new mattress. We had purchased two Select Comfort Pillows and a mattress pad from the Select Comfort Store. We tried the pillows and couldn’t get used to them, so they went back along with an overpriced matress pad. When I returned them to the store, I spoke to the salesperson who sold us the bed and said that we did not like the bed and were having a lot of trouble finding a comfortable “Sleep Number”. He acted really surprised and had me lay down on a bed exactly like the one we have and did a computer test as to what “Sleep Number” I should be sleeping on. I cam home and tried it out for a few nights and ended with my hip and bck killing me! Now we have decided that we don’t want the bed and when we called the store, they told us to contact Customer Service. I called Customer Service and let then know that we didn’t want the bed and they told me that it would be $149.99 for the Select Comfort delivery people to come back out and pick the bed up. We are very upset. The salesperson who sold us the bed didn’t mention anything about there being a charge if we didn’t like the bed. They said that it was all “Risk Free”. They also can’t come get the bed that we don’t want anymore for a week. This is a very poor company to deal with. We feel sorrry for anyone else who gets suckered into purchasing one of these beds. Save your money and get a different bed. Sleeping on the couch is more comfortable than sleeping on this bed!

Having spent 11 uncomfortable years sleeping on an extra-firm Sealy mattress, I welcomed the opportunity to purchase a new mattress set would make me look foreward to going to sleep. So when I got the OK from my husband to purchase our new bed, I scoured every furniture store around to find the perfect bed.

My criteria was simple –COMFORT.
