I was very hesitant to buy given the many negative reviews on the delivery portion of this product/company. However, I’ve had my Bergad Isoform Mattress for over two months. I love it and it is all that folks rage about.
We needed to buy a new bed, and after much research and consideration, we went to Brookstone to test the Tempur-pedic mattress. Long story short, we bought a King size mattress along with the foundation. It arrived on Nov 19, 2003.
I was in some serious need for a new mattress but I had no idea where to start looking. I went to a few other places but the mattresses just all looked the same…I had no idea which one to get.
On my way home I drove by a Verlo store and I thought I’d check it out….and I’m glad I did.
The Verlo store I went to was so much different from those other places. The salesman didn’t try to pressure me into making a decision. He started with a “comfort test” to see what I liked in a mattress. When I told him I wanted a soft pillowtop but one that wasn’t the top of the line he took me right to the Ultra Pillow Top.
I purchased a Serta Perfect Sleeper about 14 months ago; I was having a hard time sleeping and was waking up in the morning sore, tired and with headaches. I defiantly needed some kind of different support for my body; I was always told from my parents that I needed to be sleeping on a firm bed to get the ultimate rest. Talking with my doctor I concluded that I needed something that was firm and soft. Doing research I found that the only mattress that gives the right combination of both firm and soft is the perfect sleeper.
Four years ago, our traditional spring mattress started sleeping hard and uncomfortable. It was an $800 queen that had about 5-6 years of sleeping on it. So, I bought a 2 inch memory foam topper from Carpenter Company reseller on Ebay. Put this on and slept great for a year, but guessed that a whole matress would be even better. So, I went with a generic (Carpenter Com.) queen memory foam mattress. Started sleeping on this bed and it slept like a rock. Put the foam topper on it and it was pretty comfortable, but hot. This was fine in the winter, but tough when the weather warmed up. So, in the late spring, off came the topper and back on in the late Fall. Struggled with the idea of buying a $2500 Tempur-Pedic bed and foundation. Waited years. Finally broke down three weeks ago and discovered the new Rhapsody. All I can say is that Tempur-Pedic has a special formula and this bed has the most unique melting feeling that the competitors just can’t seem to duplicate. I paid $2,900 for this bed and foundation and can say now that it is worth every penny. How much is sleep worth? To me alot with four kids, a day job in IT and night time online home business. Bed sleeps cool and will snuggle you into the most relaxing sleep you have ever had. If you are on the fence and have tried others, get the Tempur-Pedic Rhapsody, and just like my Harley Davidson Fatboy, sometimes the brand is worth the extra money!
After exhaustive research and a number of recommendations, I bit the bullet and plunked down the cash for this bed.
Best money I have ever spent.
I have never been able to sleep well. I do not have the remarkable ability to sleep on cue or in any place other than my bed. Not only do I sleep light, but I go through extensive periods of insomnia. I also, at 34, routinely woke up with awful pain in both my shoulders from pressure, neck pain, and frequently, lower back pain (as a result of a sports injury).
As I recently moved to Japan I have been sleeping on the futons which are traditional here. I absolutely love them, but my guests were constantly complaining about the aches and pains they experienced. So I asked some friends of mine to send me over an air mattress for times when I had company visit.
The air mattress has an automatic pump which takes 4 D batteries and takes about 15 minutes to inflate. There is also an option of using a hand pump to inflate, this takes from 20- 25 minutes. I liked having the option of inflation and in fact this is the best (and only redeemable feature of this product!).
Customer service is non-existent at Aerobed if you are trying to get a replacement bed. First person I talked to quit literally the same or next day, but never gave our information about our failed bed to her replacement. Next person I talked to found our information and said they would send out the information for the replacement with a mailing label. Never received that in the mail. Had to follow up again and ask where it was, so they sent it again. Finally received it. Instructions on “what” to return were incorrect for the product we had. Had to ask again, what to send to fulfill their requirements to determine the bed had been destroyed. Mailed it with THEIR mailing label with their return invoice, large portion of the bed we cut out to prove we destroyed it, via PRIORITY MAIL and proof of delivery. Then we waited. It was delivered two days later. Several weeks later, I follow up again asking status. They tell me my receipt number was incorrect and they had not received it! After once again checking my email and the USPS website, all the information was there, I had to scan and send proof that they received it and had failed to act upon receipt of their required materials. It has been over 4 months of trying to get a replacement! Too bad they couldn’t have replaced a small part in the motor. A perfectly good bed was sent to the landfill for want of a plastic part?
INSTEAD OF BUYING A KING SET, WE BOUGHT TWO EXTRA LONG TWIN SETS, #2 AND #3. EVEN THOUGH I TOOK THE DORMO DIAGNOSTIC TEST, I DIDN’T FIND THE BED COMFORTABLE. ALSO, I BEGAN TO DEVELOP NECK PAIN. AFTER WE HAD THE SETS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, THE CENTER OF MY MATTRESS STARTED SINKING. I WENT BACK TO THE STORE WHERE WE PURCHASED THE SETS–THE MATTRESS GALLERY IN CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA–AND ASKED THE OWNER TO SEND A FACTORY REPRESENTATIVE TO LOOK AT MY MATTRESS. HE DID NOTHING. I ASKED AGAIN AND AGAIN. FINALLY, AFTER REQUESTING FOUR TIMES THAT SOMEONE LOOK AT MY SINKING MATTRESS, I CALLED THE KINGSDOWN FACTORY AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM TO THEM. KINGSDOWN SENT SOMEONE FROM AN INDEPENDENT COMPANY TO MY HOUSE TO EVALUATE THE MATTRESS, WHICH AT THAT POINT HAD A DEEP DEPRESSION (I WEIGH 110 POUNDS). THE FINAL REPORT STATED CLEARLY THAT THE MATTRESS WAS DEFECTIVE.
We have been sleeping on our king-sized Cerulean for two and one-half years and are still as happy with it as the day it was installed. With my back problems, we have tried them all, from high-end spring mattresses to water beds to memory foam. Finally we decided to give this a try as it allowed for individual settings to suit each person. It went together easily enough and we were off to a good start. After about one year we starting having problems with indentations. One call to Richard allowed us to narrow it down to the pillow top portion and we replaced it with a non-pillow top casing…end of problem. We therefore recommend you go with the non-pillow top casing. Recently, we noticed my husband’s side was losing air during the night, Another call to Richard and he told us how to test to ascertain if the leak was at the pump or the bladder. We ran the test and told him the bladder was the culprit and a new one is headed our way. It is such a pleasure to do business with Richard, I cannot say enough good things about him and Nationwide Mattress. He stands behind his products and is very prompt to respond to questions, even if they involve a problem. You cannot ask for any better service and you get an excellent bed too!
