7000 King For Me it’s Great Select Comfort Mattress Sleep Number 7000

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

Even before purchasing this bed I read mixed reviews everywhere. People seem to love it or hate it. I have a bad back and neck and have much less pain sleeping on this bed. Previously I owned a Sealy Posturpedic Crown Jewel and a King Koil (supposed endorsed by chiropractors and turned into the worst bed I’ve even owned). Let me explain what makes the Sleep Number great for me. Dual adjustable zones so my husband and I are both comfortable. There are no “pressure points” so both of us toss and turn much less and feel like we’ve had healthier sleep. We’ve been sleeping on it almost a year without incident. No strange fluctuations in air settings, no odors, none of the other complaints I read. The bed has a 20 year warranty it’s prorated as are ALL bed warranties. Many mattresses on the market have a long prorated warranty but the truth of the matter is that a bed will only last you 10 years at the most with normal use. If you are heavier, let your pets on it, etc. count on only 5 - 7 years. With the Sleep Number I can extend the life of the bed by replacing parts as they fail. All beds will fail. The pillowtop is always the first to get “compression spots” and with a traditional bed you can’t replace it. The Sleep Number pillowtop is in a zipped compartment so I can replace it when it begins to wear. If in 5 years one of my air chambers begins to fail I can replace it. You can’t replace your inner springs on traditional beds. So basically I can rebuild this bed for as long as I want to keep it. That was the biggest selling point for me. Especially because the pillowtop on my $2000 King Koil developed very uncomfortable compression spots and I had to toss the bed after only 2 years! I won’t lie though - it takes time to adjust to sleeping on air. It’s a completely different feel than innerspring and it took me almost a month to get used to it. In that month I felt much better and slept much better but still felt weird when first getting into bed. A down side is that the foam framing which surrounds each individual air chamber is quite firm so it makes snuggling your significant other in the middle of the bed a little uncomfortable. I get the feeling from some reviews that consumers who purchased the bed felt it was the last bed they would have to spend money on. No such thing exists. At least with this bed I can rebuild it over time. An innerspring will die with no options except full replacement in approx. 7 years. I am completely satisfied with this bed and look forward to many years of sleeping great!

Rhapsody Bed Set Queen Size Tempur Pedic Swedish Mattress

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

Updt: Aug 4, 07. I was concerned over kt-marie’s review of Sit n Sleep selling a used TP mattress. How does anyone know if they received a new one or a “used on”?

According to TP - each mattress/foundation comes sealed in plastic so check to see if it has been altered, repackaged or taped. They also go on further to state, “Tempur-PedicĀ® does not authorize the sell of used mattresses, even on trial returns. All mattresses returned to us are destroyed or otherwise disposed of for health reasons. It is against federal law to sell a used mattress. If Tempur-PedicĀ® discovers a retailer selling a used mattress, this is against the agreement we have with the store and it can lead to them loosing their right to sell our products.

Sleep Comfort 5000 yes/no? Update! January 2006 Select Comfort Mattress Sleep Number 5000

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

My husband and I bought this bed a several weeks ago. I am 5′2″ and my husband is about 6′0″ We have spent about 4 years looking at different mattresses and didn’t know whether we should choose between the Memory Foam Type Mattress or Sleep Comforts, Sleep Number Bed. We finally decided to take the time and go to one of the store locations and test out the mattress first. The Sales Person who helped us, had us both lay on the Mattress and showed us both what sleep numbers would work for the both of us.

no snoring tonight! Sealy Posturepedic Mattress

Friday, January 30th, 2009

About one year ago I purchased the Sealy Posture Posturpedic mattress set from a local furniture store for $800. It was a full size, firmer matress with a mattress cover included. The furniture store delivered it and removed my old one, which has nothing to do with this review. :)

NEW MATTRESS

Perfect Sleep Finally! Serta Perfect Night Mattress

Friday, January 30th, 2009

The Serta Perfect Night sleeper is every thing one could want in a mattress. We looked with fear in our hearts not wanting to make a mistake. We bought the king size and had to have a bed that met several requirements. This mattress met every requirement we had. The correct firmness, comfort, support, and lasting quality.

Warning Kingsdown/sleepy’s scandle Kingsdown Ultimate Pillow Top

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Long Story short. We bought a kingsdown pillow top mattress at sleppys after laying on the sleep system bed to see which mattress was best for us. It was the worst decision and the salesman Lied to us. He said there was no need to flip the matress since it has a pillow top AND THAT IT WAS A GREAT MATTRESS. That was B S, the mattress was SAGGING within 3 to 4 MONTHS. I thought it was just me, but P.S. a year and 1/2 later there is a 2 inch sag and I have a herniated disc in my neck. We are able to either get a different matress or a kingsdown again via warranty from Sleepys. NO way would I get this matress again. And, I would never use sleepys again. If I didn’t have the warranty I would go elsewhere. This is the worst matress and very expensive. Not only did the Sleepy’s salesman lie, it took days on the phone and a day off work to get the mattress inspected by an independant company. Sleepy’s did not seem to care whether I had a back problem or not. We are currently sleeping with our heads at the bottom of the matress to avoid back pain until we get the new matress. Too many people are saying the same thing in their reviews…. so take NOTICE. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

A Great Night’s Rest From Land and Sky Land and Sky Impression 5500

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

After 15 years on a free flow waterbed mattress I was ready for a change. I wanted a comfortable mattress with good support and waveless action.

The Land and Sky Impression series offers a coil sleep system with lumbar support, optional dual comfort controls and choice of firmness.

I purchased the Impression 5500 mattress. This is a firm mattress with a 48 coil lumbar support system and contains 5 layers of wave reduction materials. It was purchased from an online dealer for $289.95. Delivery came directly from Land and Sky and shipping was free. Delivery was prompt and the product is backed by a 5 Year manufacturer warranty.

Tempurpedic keeps me in bed. Tempur Pedic Swedish Mattress

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Tempurpedic is a great mattress, the absolute best. It is nice and firm while at the same time it molds to my body.

Can’t recommend tempurpedic enough–if you can afford it.

Don’t let them talk you into believing that the “tempurpedic base” is some kind of special item. It is a regular old box spring.

Mine cost just over $2000 (king box spring), but they delivered and set it up.

Skip the pillow-top inner spring mattresses and get the tempurpedic.

This was and awful experience Symbol Mattress Contour Sleep Natural Latex No Flip Bed GRL6

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

We purchased a Symbol Memory Contour Mattress do to my husband having surgery. We were insured this was the best, and it would never never get any body impressions. We saw and ad in the local newspaper that was just under misc. for sale, great deals on mattresses. We called and we had to make an appointment because it was a storage unit. We got there indeed it was a storage unit. But inside there were displays of furniture. The gentlemen showed us this mattress and told us if we bought it in a store it would be double the money. So at 1895.00 we purchased the beginning of a nightmare. When we got it delivered, one box spring had a hole in it. And I was told to contact Symbol. The hole was small, so I didn’t do anything. After 3 months I noticed some body impressions, so we called and he told us to try it a little longer. We did. Around 7 months we called again, and the body impressions were almost 2 inches, but not quite yet. And we wrote symbol. They said it had to be deeper. This mattress has a 20 year warranty. And believing the gentlemen stating it would never get body impression. we didn’t read the warranty. So symbol wrote back and said this was normal. Well what is going to happen in a few years, was my next question. Sorry no exchange. Not deep enough. Well now I have a 1 year only mattress that looks like a W, two sages and a hump in the middle. We can’t sleep and we roll into the impressions. I tell you before you by this, try it. And most important don’t buy from a unknown storage unit. BUY FROM A STORE THAT WILL STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCT. KNOW WHERE YOU ARE BUYING, MAKE SURE ITS A WELL KNOWN STORE NOT JUST A AD IN THE PAPER OR A STORAGE UNIT.

WE GOT RIPED OFF AND NOW HAD TO BUY ANOTHER MATTRESS.

Comfort Pillow great, but order elsewhere The ComfortPillow by Tempur Pedic

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

This pillow makes a great gift. It is the most versatile of the Tempurpedic pillows, and it’s good if you don’t know exactly what thickness of pillow you would prefer. It has the same concept as a down pillow, except instead of feathers inside that move around, it’s little pieces of the tempurpedic material.

I found it took a couple of days to get used to, but now it’s very comfortable, and it can be fluffed up and molded to whatever shape in which you want your pillow.
