Cush Pillow…What a Cushie Job! Cush Pillow

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

I always have a tough time figuring out gifts for my husband for Christmas…one day while walking through Wal*Mart I saw a pillow that had the oddest feel to it and it had a vibrator in it too! (Wait, don’t OT me yet)

My hubby liked the pillow, but more than that I loved his pillow. While I knew it was his, I would slyly try to grasp it during the night. While I didn’t care about the vibrator or using it, I loved the way this pillow conformed to my head and just seemed to be the perfect thing to help make me comfortable.

Bad Sagging Mattress at a high price Sealy Posturepedic Mattress

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Well I purchased an expensive queen size Sealy firm pillow top mattress. The first mattress delivered was not firm like the one in the store, they did replace the mattress. The next mattress did not even last 1 year, depressions formed in the mattress within 6 months, they sent a mattress tech out and he made the depression notations, so they replaced it again and of course I had to pay a 50 dollar delivery charge unless I could pick up from store. (Unfortunately I do not have a vehicle to fit a queen size mattress). Well in about 6 months mattress sagged again, tech came out made the depression notes and they agreed to replace it again, but it seems my model has been discontinued so they now want me to put out more money (150-200 depending on what I would pick out) because there is not an exact duplicate mattress as I had at the same price. They also said they will not discount the tag I see on the new mattress. I was dealing with Rockaway bedding. Sealy said they do not handle the warranty issues, the Rockaway bedding store had all warranty control. Rockaway did say I could purchase a cheaper model and not put out any money but it was lessor quality.

Well being that I have lost work for each time a mattress was delivered and each time a tech had to come to my house, I would think they could eat the extra money. Well they did not. I also contacted sealy, you can not call them at first, you must fill in their claim which is 3 pages long. I was then told that Rockaway owned the warranty.

Gave us nightmares! Tempur Pedic Swedish Mattress

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

My husband and I recently stayed three nights (at the expense of another company) at Marriott’s Griffin Gate resort in Lexington, Kentucky. We were put in a room with a Tempur-Pedic. We didn’t get any sleep and we could not wait until we got home to our wonderful innerspring mattress. And we weren’t alone. Everyone we were with agreed how awful this mattress is. It made several of us very hot and we would wake up many times in the night. Once you were laying on it, you felt stuck and it was difficult to even roll over to more comfortable position. After a long morning of golf, my husband was unable to take a much-needed nap on this bed.

Opinion on Tempur Pedic mattress at Brookstone with adjustable frame Tempur Pedic Adjustable Sleep System

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

WHAT I BOUGHT

I bought four pieces, all in extra long, to make one ‘king size’ bed: twin and full mattresses and adjustable foundations. I wanted this mattress forever, but waited 3 years before finally buying. And what made me buy it was that the local Brookstone store was selling the floor model twin extra long adjustable foundation for 50% off because it was an older model and they wanted to replace the floor model with the newer model. There are minor differences between the old and the new adjustable bed, but nothing of significant note, except that the new model is truly whisper quiet. But hey, I saved $650.00. That is a big chunk of change for me.

Totally Disgusted!! Serta Perfect Night Mattress

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

We purchased a Queen Set ($900)- firm. After a few months we started getting bad sagging…our backs were killing us we were (30 & 31) at the time. We paid $35 for someone to come out and look at it and then tell us we would get a replacement. In order to get a replacement we had to pay another $135 for “shipping fees.” The bed that came was a non-flip bed. It was delivered and when the delivery guys put it on top of the box springs I about went postal!! The bed had a very obvious lump down the middle of the bed. I told them to go ahead and take the old one as I couldn’t imagine this one being any worse then the original was…WRONG!!! 2 months later and sagging, lumps, bumps…same as everyone else has written…If you sleep on the very edge you might get a little nap, but I have now resorted to sleeping on the floor with nothing underneath me, and my DH is sleeping alone in bed!!

Excellent Air Bed Comfortaire Cerulean Mattress

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

My spouse and I have been sleeping on the same old mattress for the last 7 years. This was a cheap mattress bought for $300. I can sleep on any surface no matter how lousy it is, but my wife had been complaining for the last 6 months that she couldn’t sleep on this mattress any more. So I did some research and based on feedback in this forum and others, we decided to go with an air bed, assuming that this would be superior to other high-end spring mattresses.

We didn’t buy the same one twice Coleman Quickbed with QuickPump 5998G322

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

I purchased the Coleman Quickbed with QuickPump because I was brought up camping with Coleman products and trust the brand. Although I still trust Coleman overall, I will not buy another one of these mattresses.

It was easy enough to use once you understand the directions (which I admit took me more than one reading). Just hook it up, turn on the pump and wait. You don’t even have to wait too long. Getting the pump off and the filling hole closed without all of the air leaking out was something that I never did do successfully. I finally gave up trying and just had my sweetie do the closing part. Even he had some air leakage when he did it, but it wasn’t as bad as when I did it.

I’m Sleeping with Stearns & Foster UPDATE: Sept 2007 Stearns & Foster Tinsdale Mattress

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

My husband and I had been looking for a new mattress for quite some time. We both have bad postures and wake up with aching backs every morning. We knew that we needed an extremely good mattress and that it wouldn’t be cheap either. We came across the Stearns & Foster brand mattresses and began trying them all out in the store.

They were all very comfortable and felt really good while we tried them out. They came in all sizes and prices. We began asking alot of questions about them; how they were made, how they held up, warranties…etc.

Best mattress I’ve ever felt Tempur Pedic Swedish Mattress

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Update: I wrote this review a couple years back under the “Abed Mattress” since no Swedish Tempur Pedic entry existed. Now it does, so I’ve copied it over and added some updates.

Original post:

————–

We have had our Tempur-Pedic for over a year and are extremely happy with it. From the description, it appears to be the same technology as the Abed product. We bought only the foam mattress and placed it on top of our existing box spring base and it works fine. Ours is a Queen size.

Bergad is top rated with me. Bergad Isoform Mattress

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I have done much research here on Epinions on the memory foam mattresses. Buying such a large item without trying it out first was kinda scary. The reviews here were extremely helpful. That is what led me to make the decision to purchase the Bergad mattress. Most of the ratings are positive compared to similar memory foam mattresses written about.

I recently purchased this mattress and love it. My husband loves it too. It took a little getting used to but all in all, I love it!

Customer service was extremely helpful.I had no problem with placing my order.

There are a couple options to purchasing it. I bought the mattress kit. Anyone wanting to purchase a Bergad mattress, I recommend you to go to their other web site which is: www.foam-fabrication.com and order their mattress kit from there. The kit for a queen sized costs $380. If you order the mattress already put together it costs $699 plus $100 shipping. You get the same mattress, you just have to put it together yourself, which is easy. The only other thing I suggest is to upgrade to the better mattress cover. The kit comes with the terry cloth cover which is not as durable as the upgraded one and the cost will be $40 more which makes the queen size $420 plus $100 shipping, a total of $520, which is a substantial savings on the mattress. The only con is that you do not receive the two free pillows with the mattress kit but you can order them separately. I didn’t order them so I can not comment on the pillows.

In my opinion, this is a better mattress than the Tempur-Pedic and is not quite as firm as the Tempur-Pedic. I tried Tempur-Pedic out at Brookstone and liked the feel of the mattress and the way it contours to your body but thought it was a little pricey. The Bergad is extrememly comparable to it and I do believe I like Bergad better. I’m sure the difference in the price had much to do with that.

From talking to customer service at Bergad I was told that they are going to be discontinuing selling the mattress kits within the next month or two. The prices are also going to rise somewhat.

I love my mattress and highly recommend it. I haven’t slept so well in I don’t know when. Haven’t had any problem with the mattress getting too warm as some other people have suggested in their review. I live in the south so it never really gets too hot or too cold here.

They are also now shipping UPS instead of Yellow Freight.I had read about the shipping nightmares with Yellow Freight and was happy when told that it would be delivered by UPS.Mine arrived damage free.
