Finally, a good night’s sleep! Select Comfort Classic Mattress

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

My wife and I purchased our extended queen Select Comfort 7000 series bed and were awaiting its arrival when I first found this website and started reading opinions about Select Comfort beds. I was troubled to think that we’d spent over $3000 for a bed that so many people seemed to hate. I worried for nothing.

The bed looks great and I love the fact that it comes in components. I unzipped the pillow top and added a memory-form insert. Voila - I now had the equivalent to the top of line 9000 series.

Imaginair Aerobed Mattress thanks a lot, mom and dad… Aero Raised Aerobed (Twin, Full, Queen)

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Indeed, my parents got rid of my old bed after I left the house and it was clear their son was gone. Mom got a nice office out of my freshly-renovated room. My Wife and I got this blasted air mattress to sleep on when we visit my folks.

I’m not complaining, mind you. I’m a cheapskate at heart, and I’d sleep out in my parents’ back yard if I could save the expense of a hotel room. Still, this mattress is nothing like my old, comfortable bed.

Best mattress I have ever used SAM Mattress

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

I decided I needed a mattress after many sleepless nights on my old mattress. I have used a air mattress, a water mattress, and many inner spring mattresses; none of them can close to the quality of sleep I receive on the SAM bed. I started researching on the internet to see what was available; memory foam caught my attention, then latex seemed to be preferable, finally I found out about the SAM bed and it seemed to provide what I was looking for. After pretty much deciding on the SAM bed I found this site and saw negative comments on the service of Comfort Direct and on the SAM mattress itself, this gave me a great deal of concern. I called Comfort Direct and talked to the owner (Kevin D.) and he gave me assurances that if I didn’t like the bed, I could return it, also he assured me that I would like it. In my research I found out that this company has a poor rating with Better Business Bureau, probably received from some of the same people that posted at this site. What finally caused me to take the plunge and order the bed in spite of the negative feed back? 1)The use of the bed in the medical field which is pretty much the same bed except it doesn’t have a wool cover, it has sloped footing, and it has a much higher price tag. 2)Kevin gave a SAM mattress to the CEO of a luxury motel chain and they are going to use the mattress in there premium rooms 3) I contacted people who gave good reviews of the mattress and they seemed to love it. 4) Most of the negative comments were concerning costumer service, one person got very upset because he couldn’t take the mattress back to the office complex instead of shipping it back to factory after getting return authorization.

After taking the plunge and ordering the Mattress (queen size) it arrived 3 weeks later (I was told 2 weeks; it was a week late, no big problem) at my door in 3 large boxes. It took about 30 minutes to unpack and assemble on my box foundation, everything was very simple, just lay the two independent air chamber sections in the mattress cover and zip together, then lay foam (I chose medical grade convoluted foam, memory and latex foam can be had instead) over the air chambers, and finally zip wool cover to mattress cover. I laid down on the wool cover as soon as I assembled mattress and knew I was going to really enjoy it. I have slept on the mattress for 3 nites now and I love it, my wife likes it ok and likes it better the more she gets used to it. The firmess controls (a lever on each side of the head end of the bed) are used to make the mattress firmer or softer (this control is very simple to use and very effective), you don’t notice much immediately but after a bit you notice a lot of difference, my wife prefers soft , I prefer medium soft firmness. Laying on the bed feels great, the bed is firm but also molds to your body giving you a well supported soft feel. I am writing this review so soon after receiving my bed because I was very hesitant to order the bed after reading the negative reviews and I thought my review might help someone else decide to try a mattress that I think they will love. As I grow more accustomed too the bed I like it more and more, I am resting much better than before. This is the best bed I have ever used, I am going to recommend it to everyone I see. If you would like to receive a detail view of the bed with detail pictures go to Comfort Direct and look at the slide show, it will give you a better picture than anything I can say in this review. Thanks for reading this review, Tim Terry, a better resting SAM bed user.

Comfy, but too PRONE TO LEAKAGE Aero Raised Aerobed (Twin, Full, Queen)

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

We bought the outdoor “Sports” version (twin) with rechargeable battery air pump in April of 2005 for about $80. Very impressed with ease of use and comfort. We used it indoors during a home renovation for an entire month the first time out and loved it. Lately it’s been heavily used for recreational camping and sleeping inside a station wagon while on the road. The pump has taken 6-7 recharges and provided 35+ inflations with no signs of wearing out. BUT…

After about a year we experienced the first overnight deflate. We are extremely careful when using it and always have a plastic tarp under it outdoors or inside a tent or car.

Excellent bed…so so customer service Bergad Isoform Mattress

After spending one magical night on a Tempur-pedic in a D.C. hotel, I knew I had to buy a memory foam mattress. While my boyfriend and I loved (LOVED) the bed, I did not love the fact that it would cost me about $2,000 for a full-size bed (including taxes, a leak-proof mattress cover, etc.).

I started searching for alternatives, and was instantly intrigued by the Bob-o-pedic — about half the price of the expensive brand. I tried it in the store and actually think it felt a lot like the Tempur-pedic. The one issue that stopped me from buying the bed was the Bob’s warranty, which covers a 1.5 inch depression (as opposed to the .75 inch depression covered by Tempur-pedic).

Queen size frame doesn’t fit a queen mattress! Aero Twin/Full/Queen Size Frames for AeroBed LC500FUL/LC500TWN/LC500QUN

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

We purchased a queen sized frame so that my (older) parents would be able to get stay with us in our small apartment. I was worried about the purchase because of the reviews, but didn’t see many other good options. We had to special order it from our local Sharper Image, and I think we had to pay a large delivery charge, and it took about a month to arrive.

What you lay on in the store may not be what you’ll be laying on after a few nights of sleeping on it in your home. Call it “break-in” or whatever, but the support seemed to weaken some after a few days. We got a DeluxeBed and foundation based on lying on it in the store for 30 minutes. Felt good at that time. At home, it slept great for the first few nights, felt supportive like the one in the store. But after a few days we noticed our butts and shoulders seem to sink in too much, causing your back to arch a bit and making for back pain. You can press on the mattress and feel the difference in firmness, i.e. soft spots where our butts and shoulders go. We’re not obese– she’s 5′2″ 125, I’m 6′02″ 200. We exchanged (bought at retail dealer) our first Deluxe after a week for a Rhapsody and paid the extra $400, because store said Rhapsody was firmer and more supportive due to the Tempur HD material used in it (this was the wrong direction to go for firmness though, see firmness ranking below from factory rep that disqualifies dealer’s statement regarding firmness of the Rhapsody). Same thing– felt great in store, felt great first few nights, then the shoulder and butt soft spot effect took hold and we’re sleeping with our backs arched again. Also, if you want to roll onto your side on a tempurpedic DeluxeBed its not as easy as on a spring type mattress– it takes a little effort until you get used to it. The dealer we bought from went above and beyond the call and let us exchange yet again. The third mattress seems to be doing the same thing. I ended up contacting Tempurpedic Customer Support over the matter and they basically told me that all their mattresses except the EuroBed do this breaking in thing and it’s “normal.” They claimed its due to “body heat” having an “initial softening effect” on the tempur material. The rep ranked their entry level and middle range models in this order from soft (1) to firmer (5):

Hello Sandman. Aero Minute Bed Mattress

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

We bought this Imaginiair Aerobed Mattress because we were expecting company and did not have enough beds in our house.

So we bought the bed and brought it home. We were down to having only a few hours before our company arrived so we got it right out of the box and hoped that it was easy to use, and most important that it was comfortable.

A Mattress is not always a Mattress! Sealy Posturepedic Crown Jewel Mattress

All our lives we are forced to go to bed and crash ourselves down on the “high tech” mattress’s of the times.

Yeah we have those ultra hard torture beds or those squishy beds that we can’t turn in because we sink so low…

Guys and Girls you’re in for a treat… I stumbled across this mattress while wandering through a furniture store. I threw myself down on the display.. and WOW.. I couldn’t believe it..I figured this was just too good to be true.

Soft, comfy, felt good on my back.. My gosh I was overwhelmed. I didn’t need a new mattress, but who cares, I deserved THIS…I waited my whole life for this… I spend 1/3 of my life in bed and I deserve the best… SOLD…. I bought it… King size…

Eagerly I waited for the delivery… The day came.. As soon as the guys left I laid on it… Oh boy can’t wait for tonight… I slept like a baby..

Now for the grand finale… buy yourself some flannel sheets. When you get into bed that night.. I swear you’ll think you’re back in the womb…

Well, getting late and that bed is beckoning… Actually I think I should name it.. it deserves a name… after all its my best friend now…………..

ZZzzzzzz Select Comfort Imperial Mattress

Monday, November 24th, 2008

My husband has severe back problems and has been sleeping on a recliner since he was 17. After we got married we began a search for a bed that he would be able to sleep on. We have tried almost every bed there is…waterbed, firm mattress, soft mattress, and finally settled on the Select Comfort Air mattress.
