It was great at first…but not for the long run Simmons BackCare Mattress

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Well, like many others my husband and I did extensive research into the mattress world before purchasing our Simmons. We diligently looked up consumer reviews, went to every mattress store in the Greater Kansas City area, laid on what seemed to be every mattress brand ever known. After that we thought we were well informed enough to purchase a good mattress that was comfortable and would last a good many years….NOT !!!!

We purchased our mattress in April of 2000 and for the first year it felt good, not great but good. Now here we are in January of 2004, almost four full years later and this mattress is ready for a garage sale or even the trash !

Just not happy =( …CAVEAT EMPTOR Comfortaire Cerulean Mattress

Friday, October 24th, 2008

*See below for my recent update.

After 10 years of marriage and two boys playing and bouncing on our bed, I decided that a new mattress was in order. After convincing my husband that it was needed, I started to do research, both in-store and on different mattress company web sites. I checked out Consumer Reports, Consumer Reviews, and this site: Epinions.com. What I found out was that many people had purchased the Comfortaire Cerulean Mattress and it seemed like almost all of the customers were truly pleased with the mattress. So we dove in and took the risk on a mattress.

Comfortaire Cerulean Mattress Comfortaire Cerulean Mattress

Friday, October 24th, 2008

This review is a first for me, but I feel strongly enough about this product that I wanted to provide comments on it.

Background: We had a bed (coil spring) that was more than 15 years old and had seen better days. It was a good bed and functioned well for many years, but I kept it far too long. After a month of research, including trying out upscale coil-spring mattresses, foam pad beds, and various brands of air mattresses, my wife and I decided to order the Comfortaire Cerulean mattress.

Tempur-Pedic Support Pillow

Reviews

Sweet dreams!

Positive Deep sleep, no more cricks in my neck!
Cons: None

I have chronic neck pains, thanks to a car accident years ago. (Wear your seat belts, people.) I bought a Tempur Pedic pillow years ago, but put it in storage immediately. It does tend to get very flat when you lie down on it. But now I just put another pillow underneath it.

The TP fits the shape of my neck and head beautifully. I have no more neck pain, and sleep incredibly deeply with it. BTW, don’t buy the pillow case–just use one of your own.

I’m So Tired…. Sealy Posturepedic Mattress

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

A few weeks ago we decided it was time for a new mattress. We went shopping around to Strawbridges, Macy’s, and finally Raymour and Flanigan. They just seemed to have a better selection, prices and customer service. We ended up selecting a Sealy Posturpedic Mattress set called the Fonda with a low profile box spring. If we would have ordered a high profile I probably would have needed a ladder to get in and out of bed…(I’m not kidding)…

The best sleep of your life Kingsdown Ultimate Pillow Top

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

From reading past reviews, I can see that with this mattress, you either love it or you hate it. I happen to love mine.

I have a bad back, and for years I bought into the old theory that you needed to sleep on something that felt like a pool table if you had back problems. After years of constantly waking up all night long in pain, I finally decided to look for something soft. The salesman at Sleepy’s promised me that Kingsdown was the softest mattress I could find, and he was right! After trying it out in the store, I was sold. At that point, I would have sold my left kidney for a good night’s sleep.

Great Product! Therm a Rest LE Camp Rest

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

I spent 42 nights in the woods last year and about that for the last 8 years. My son is in Boy Scouts so I became an assistant Scoutmaster and went with him. It was a great decision. The Therm-a-Rest LE 2″ is also a great decision. I started out with air mattresses which after 1 or two campouts would leave me on the hard, cold ground from an air leak somewhere. After going through 7 of those, someone recommended that I try the Therm-a-Rest. As we were headed to Southern Utah for 11 days in the Canyonlands sleeping on rock, I bought one. It was great. Because it is so flat, I really needed a pillow or some support for my head but I slept great. I’m 50 so I’m not a limber young man. The only way to keep my old self going on these campouts is to get it as comfortable as possible. The CampRest LE 2″ does that.

~~ PILLOW FIGHTING WITH THE ANGELS ~ COMFORTPILLOW BY TEMPUR PEDIC ~~ The ComfortPillow by Tempur Pedic

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

I am a pillow-person! I have pillows piled on the bed, on the couch, on the kids beds, on chairs, on the floor. In my opinion, you can never have TOO many pillows.

I am also very picky about the perfect pillow. It can not be too bunchy, too hard, too lumpy, too soft..perhaps I am a little like Goldilocks! It has to be just right! Once we purchased our Tempur-Pedic mattress, it seemed only natural to invest in $150 Temper-Pedic pillows as well.

THANK GOD I FOUND THIS

Don’t buy one Englander Lady Englander

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Unless you like sleeping in a ditch, don’t buy one! They say that body impressions are “normal” and increase the comfort of the mattress. I do not sleep in the same exact position all the time and my back is killing me from the uneven mattress. Another problem is that you are supposed to flip and rotate the mattress regularly. This means that I sometimes sleep in my husbands “body impression”. He is 1 foot taller and 60 pounds heavier than I am. And that is supposed to be comfortable??? The warranty talks about only body impressions more than 2 inches are covered by the warranty yet no one will come and look at the mattress to even determine if your situation applies. All you will get is a letter saying that it is not covered and they will not replace your mattress! Unfortunately the store I bought the set from is out of business… Gee, I wonder why? Could it be the product is terrible?!!!! The old saying “you get what you pay for” definitely applies here

The most horrible air mattress ever Eddie Bauer Queen Raised Insta Bed

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

I bought this air mattress, with the belief that because it was an Eddie Bauer it must be high quality. My family has been buying Eddie Bauer products, since they came on the market.

THIS BED WAS A HUGE LEMON!!! I tried to take it back to target after the first month or so. It immediately kept losing air and was absolutely useless. Target wouldn’t take it back, because I couldn’t find my receipt and when I tried to contact Eddie Bauer directly, they told me to deal with Target not them.
