The Cloud Nine Bed by Serta: If Not Heaven, as Close as We’ll Likely Get The Cloud Nine Bed by Serta

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Let the Bed Wars begin! That’s right, there’s a bed war going on even as we speak.

Background

Ever since Starwood Resorts (owners of Westin Hotels) began rolling out their Heavenly Bed Program throughout their upscale properties back in 1999, a bed war of sorts has been going on.

Hotel chains have increasingly looked at beds, or more accurately, plush luxurious beds as a means for differentiating themselves from their competition. Most often these beds are better (more comfortable) than those we generally sleep on at home.

Bad Back Need New Mattress Select Comfort Mattress Sleep Number 5000

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Select Comfort Sleep Number made me aware that I really need a very soft mattress which was not what I though I needed or wanted. Make note to get larger size than what you currently have. See review below for more info on this as this is my only regret and wish I could do it differently now.

OUR SEARCH:

I recently had a baby and when I was pregnant my back started giving me problems. I thought and was told that after I had my baby that my back would be better. Unfortunately that was not the case as my back started hurting me more.

Select comfort Select Comfort Classic Mattress

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Well, I recently bought a Select Comfort mattress from the online site (selectcomfort.com) and I have slept in it for about a month now so I think I can write a review.

First of all, we (my wife and I) went with the cheapest of thier mattresses because we were looking at sleeping “on air”. When you buy the upgrades, you are buying padding that will mat over time.

So, we got a queen, dual chamber bed. You have to assemble it when you get it. Its fairly easy but its funny getting 3 smallish boxes and wondering how you are going to sleep on them.

No more water bed, we need better support King Koil Posture Bond Chiro Tech Premium Collection Mattress

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

It is tough to get older and loose muscle support. We had a water bed for years and I hated giving up the heat of that water bed. But as we age we really need better support. When it feels like your arm is going to come out of it’s socket after what you thought was a good night sleep in that water bed, oh well, bye bye waterbed.

Looking for Comparison between the TempurPedic Versus the Euro Flex Tempur Pedic Swedish Sleep System

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

We have tested both mattress systems and would love feed back from others who have checked out both. I am concerned about the heat buildup as I am a side sleeper, run somewhat warm to hot, and have some lumbar support issues. Vowed to never buy another coil mattress bed, so it comes down to the TempurPedic or the Euro-Flex. Loved the way it molded to me, but am concerned about changing positions, seems like it would be difficult and would take a while for the TempurPedic to re-mold. The Euro-Flex is made of latex foam, much lighter and has a lambswool and latex two sided pillow top for changing seasonal conditions. Although it did not have the same “deep” molding effect, it felt great, no pressure points, and the firm mattress with pillow top really felt good to both my wife and I, with little to no transfer from either of us changing positions. The price is a little less less than the TempurPedic, seemed very reasonable, but is not the overriding factor, sleep, comfort and support is what I care about, also, not overheating or having problems changing postions or having to wait to adjust to a mattress. We are leaning toward the Euro-Flex, read about four reviews, all very positive. Looking for others who might have also compared these two systems. The Euro-Flex does not have any odor, is not as dense foam and rebounds much quicker from various sleep positions, does not seem like it would have a heat buildup problem. They offer an unlimited 20 hear warranty with 0% sag versus the 3/4″ sag 10 year warranty then an additional 10 year pro-rated warranty from Tempur-Pedic. We are ready to buy the 9600 Euro-Flex system, but looking for others opinions. Thanks for your input.

Personal experience with Select Comfort Select Comfort Mattress Sleep Number 5000

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

The Sleep Number bed is actually what brought me to this site most recently, and is what made me decide to join Epinions! The following experience with this bed/company will be written as factual as possible.

We have a good friend who has had his sleep number 5000 bed for over a year now. He told us that it has been one of the best investments he has ever made, and that both he and his wife (who both have back problems) just love their bed. Because of their positive experience we started thinking about trying one out. We had also been thinking about upgrading our queen bed to a king size, due to many factors…one being we wanted more space (even though our queen pillowtop was not that old and was comfy enough) and two being I am pregnant and REALLY wanted more space.

I finally have a spare bed Aero Deluxe AeroBed Mattress (Twin, Full, Queen, King)

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

I purchased this so I wouldn’t have to deal with the hassle (and the cost) of having a full-size bed that I’d only need a couple of times a year. I was a little worried about how I would like it after having spent time on a friend’s air mattress, but from what I read it was likely not an aerobed that I’d spent time on previously.

What a pleasant surprise! Very comfortable, easy to adjust the pressure (and doesn’t need to be “topped off” after a day), and can easily accommodate a 250lb+ adult male without concern for it popping.

Go for the electric pump Aero Minute Bed Mattress

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

We bought this bed for our daughter and son-in-law to sleep on in our 5th wheel camper. I charged the pump the initial 24 hours when I first brought it home and then inflated the mattress. Everything was great. The first night our kids slept on it, it was fine and they said it was comfortable. On the second night (the third time to pump it up), the pump was drained of its charge by the time the bed was half inflated. The directions give very stern warnings against recharging the pump before it is fully discharged and recharging it for less than 12 hours (who inflates the mattress 12 hours before they are going to need it and what happens if, as in this case, it does not fully discharge until you are in the middle of inflating the mattress?), so they ended up sleeping on a half-inflated mattress, which they said was very uncomfortable. When we were deflating it the next morning, the plastic clip on the air release valve broke completely off, as I have read in other reviews. I am going to return this mattress to Sears and buy one with an electric pump. I will then inflate and deflate it several times to be sure the clip is not going to break right away. At the very least, I would recommend buying the bed with the electric pump.

so far so good Comfortaire Cerulean Mattress

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

i wont go into depth on set up or why i chose it. it took me 15 minutes to set up and pump up mattress. checked out select comfort and nautilis this mattress just looked better in design and construction also didn’t need to take out a 2nd mortgage to pay for it. still trying to find right setting for air support but is a really comfortable bed. Also found that nationwidemattress.com has best deals on these beds and their customer service is the best that i have ever encountered from any online business. Ordered bed on 12/30/02 received on 01/03/03. Thats fast. I upgraded to the higher dollar pump though and am still waiting for it but bed comes with the other one so this wait is not a problem richard told me that it would take a little longer since it has to come from factory.

Really Disappointed! Tempur Pedic Swedish Mattress

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

After listening to my spouse complain of back pains and feeling as though she was sleeping in hole, I finally gave up on my expensive coiled mattress (though it was less than 2 years old), and took Tempur-Pedic up on their 45-day, at-home trial.

We were excited the day the mattress arrived (it took nearly 3 weeks from request to deliver), but the excitement didn’t last long. The first night we slept on the bed, it felt as though we were lying on a slab of hard foam. There wasn’t much “give” and certainly not the “give” you see in the TV advertisements. However, we were intent on making it work for us.
